Thanks for the advices on nebula-resistant ships.
Is the fuel transfer module necessary for spaceports? It seems they are able to resupply ships at a distance? Or perhaps that's just resource transfer.
Would boarding pods on a spaceport raise also the defense against boarding?
The medical module reduces damages by 5% IIRC. Are we speaking of troops recovery here?
1. Spaceports and bases can remote transfer by default - but only do so if the ship can
not dock there.
If they can dock, they will waste a lot of time doing that instead of the much quicker remote transfer.
2. Erik indicated Assault Pods should raise defense, but a look through the game files has them all with "<AssaultDefense>0</AssaultDefense>".
Star Marine Barracks under Shipboard Marines are supposed to be the primary boarding defensse and they do have such a value listed.
However, the game is broken, considers SMB a Crew Quarter (they provide no crew) and thus keeps replacing Quarters with them, or them with Quarters - resulting in invalid designs.
3. The medical module is supposed to heal troops in a transport.
It did that in DW1.
The Recommendations do mention if you do not have it.
But if they actually work? I honestly never checked.
If they do, it is via the "Medical Rating" stat. Which also seems to be what provides the planetary happiness bonus.

I did find them in the gamefiles.
But they do not appear to be something that should be shown.
The use of the Placeholder Image is noticeable.
But their Size is also a odd number, totally inconsistent with all other size numbers.
I have verified my files and deleted everything I have seen these techs on every play through that's why I asked if they did anything.

Give or take any Ancient tech found on the homeworlds.
No techs of those names anywere.
Actually I did found 1 vanilla tech that matches. All the way down in storage, there are the Zenox only "Archival Facilities". It uses the 8th Column, it uses the 19200 cost. It is the only tech that does so.
It is quite possible the tech XML (or the copy after randomisation) is stored into the savegame. So any file fixes might only appear in new games.
If you got it in new games, it looks like a bug.
