A version of the Living Manual that maps onto the 01.02.08 patch is now in the first post.

as ever, will expire in a week and then that version will be added to the release documentation.

Updates a few errors as well as the formal patch changes.

When link clicked, I get as shown in the attachment.
a) Is it a reliable source?
b) Can it be placed in the official page?

After update the game to 1.02.11, in the Manuals folder only appears the Living Manual 1.09 (patch 01.02.08)... ¿Where is the Living Manual for 1.02.11? [:(]

we only publish new versions of the manual when a patch changes the rules as set out there, or we find something wrong or that we missed on initial publication

The discrepancy noted by Darojax in 2 tables is not fixed in the live manual, so which is correct, the first one?

Living Manual has been updated in this thread to reflect the 02.24 beta changes. It will be incorporated into the next released version.

We only use this thread if I can't get a new version ready to match to a patch release (so we get caught up with the next beta etc). The most recent living manual is in your 'manuals' game folder, should be version 1.11

Living Manual, some undocumented rules

Post by loki100 »

Next version of the Living Manual will include 2 undocumented rules (so not bugs, just not recorded). Since the next patch may be a while, felt it was useful to provide the actual changes here (this affects all ongoing games)

Stamb found that there is an issue with HQs that move before combat and their chance to commit support units.

23.6.1 Now includes:
"For a deliberate attack there are some important modifiers. If the attacker (in the current phase) or the defender (in the previous phase) has moved the relevant HQ there is a -1 modifier to the chance of a Support Unit being committed. If the attacker has not moved their HQ in the current turn, then there is a +3 bonus to the chance of a Support Unit commitment.
As a reminder, the relevant leadership value for these checks is their initiative score."
In testing I found that building up 3 Soviet Rifle Brigades produces a Rifle Corps (of the appropriate type) once these can be built.

This actually costs the same in AP for the sequence as using divisions, needs a turn or so to refit and may absorb some low experience elements.

27.5.5 Now includes:

"In addition to the rules above, a Soviet Rifle Corps can be formed with 3 rifle brigades. This will follow the usual rules for Guards/non-Guards status and will need at least one turn to refit to full strength."

Both are significant facts, esp. concerning using Guards brigades as a part of a Guards corps, and just how important is not moving your HQ before attacking.

Just wonder, will this ever be merged into the original manual?
Doesn't seem to make sense to look for the latest info here while all graphics especially explaining pictures are on the old manual.

The original manual is not protected.

So anybody with a pdf editor, knowledge and will, may add the content of the living manual.

At least for himself, other thing is that is copyrighted and cannot be uploaded without permission.

And what's wrong with that? I'm currently in the process of translating it.

I am not saying that is not possible, just that you need permission to upload it.

Or is it not copyrighted?

No. On the contrary, Loki offered those who wished the Word version of the manual.

Yes I'd like a PDF version and

Yes I'd like the air component of this game to be 10x easier which given the depth of possibilities such as having "mouse over" ,pop ups of airbases BEING useful by allowing transfer to ANY base (airfield). ANYTHING but what exists !
