In all my games as the Union I have never invaded Missouri. Tha CSA always does which spawns 2 Brigades in Missouri and pushes Kentucky toward the Union. Later she always joins the Union. What am I missing by not invading Missouri?
Thanks for any info.

I've always invaded Missouri, I don't know if leaving them Neutral doesn't fire the Volunteers? If so I think you would be missing out on a small invasion force, the MPPs in St. Louis and a second front and transfer front between the West and East. Cause now you have to go the long way around and you can't use the Rail in Missouri. The CSA would have to devote a lot of units as many as 5-15 units to defend Arkansas so you now are freeing those men up. If you're up against the AI I'm sure it doesn't matter and up against a human it would. . .

I’ve done it both ways. Good thing about not invading is that you can pretty much count on Kentucky coming over to the Union side. If you invade, results may vary. If you both invade MO and say “YES” to Garibaldi and the early Emancipation Proclamation, then I think you can pretty much kiss Kentucky goodbye?
