Fighter sweeps - airfield strafing attacks

Eagle Day to Bombing of the Reich is a improved and enhanced edition of Talonsoft's older Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich. This updated version represents the best simulation of the air war over Britain and the strategic bombing campaign over Europe that has ever been made.

Fighter sweeps - airfield strafing attacks

Post by Johntxic »

At present damage reports come in "as they happen".

It would speed-up game play significantly if the results were shown in just two message windows:

i. Own a/c damaged/destroyed

ii. X '109s (or whatever) Damaged
Y '109s Destroyed
Z AA guns destroyed

Thoughts?
The Nazis entered this war under the rather childish delusion that they were going to bomb everyone else, and nobody was going to bomb them. They sowed the wind, and now they are going to reap the whirlwind.

I quite like the 'as it happens' mode. Even though when playing as the Axis and plane after plane is damaged or destroyed and all you are thinking is 'please just GO AWAY!'

Given the age of the game, I don't expect a major new architecture.

Yes, in WITE-2, you have various ways between messages levels, combat review icons, and phase review to really customize how you experience the game. It might be nice at times here when your plans are solid just get the final phase results. But it is an old program, and I think we are just fortunate to have this.
