Esc Esc from TF results in exit of game(CTD)

Post by Gratch1111 »

So I was on a CV TF and on the carrier wings, after looking through them I use Esc on keyboard but pressed one time to many resulting in leaving game. Tested again with same result on different saves/games, however sometimes its fine the first time, also it happens more often in ports

I would suggest not stuttering with that finger on that key.

Pressing the ESC key means "back up one step" and is fine if there is a screen to return to. But if you tell the computer to back up and there is no screen it can go back to, you set up confusion in the logic of the program. Usually it manifests as the "memory leak" that gradually messes with the display of video information (like icons not appearing at a base you own) and can be fixed by saving and restarting the game.
I have never had the game self-exit on the ESC key press but recently it has frozen on selection of the Op Report by the button on the top of the main map. I don't think it will be fixed in the new patch, so we just have to live with it and, as suggested, save often.
