Good intel, thanks. Did you review the Royal Navy in the latest patch? I was finding they were too much Torpedo specialty by default. Maybe you have some more data than me.

British R-class BB hail back from WWI and had torpedos but I don't think they can be counted on at all. They fired some 11 torpedoes at Jutland but none hit. Here's a parliamentary hearing on German capital ship's torpedoes at Jutland, they must have had second thoughts about BB and torpedoes: https://api.parliament.uk/historic-hans ... -torpedoes

Could we put again this subject on the table? Results are too devastating to be honest, with torpedo specialty, even according to my opponent. It has only one CA with torpedo specialty and my whole stack of BB was just wiped out.

I am sure there is a formula calculation problem somewhere. It is like the whole stack is acting with torpedo specialty.

And this is again when Defender launches torpedoes...

I am sure that the issue is all ships gain the specialty if stacked.

It should be that just that one ships gets a "free" attack and it should be a torpedo attack.

Add to this it would be difficult for a CV or BB to actually use torpedoes as you must maneuver your ship into position, and we are all well aware that they do not turn all that well.

Sadly can't "ban" torpedo from the game since the Japanese start with it...but might have a house rule that the ship would need to stay with a CV fleet, out of action for the most part to be fair.

Thanks a lot Alvaro. I am more and more thinking this is when Defender launches torpedoes...

When Attacker launches torpedoes... (EDIT: but it was Surface Combat so it does not really count) or when there is no torpedo specialty, results are much more balanced I would say.

I have done several tests with a saved game and results are much more balanced. Torpedo specialty is less devastating than before. Thanks for this.

We can now consider leaving a naval stack in fleet mode without being wiped out so easily.
