Fighter bombers vs ships

Post by ncc1701e »

I wonder. Does Fighter Bombers are equipped and armed to hit naval targets?

If so, I wonder if we could add some Naval Air points, for them, starting 1942 or 1943. What do you think?

I do not think fighter bombers were meant for naval attack...
But that is my feeling.

All fighters type start at 1939 with 1 naval-air and 1 anti-sub, so they can attack ships. I've seen them sink some sometimes. It just remains at a that very low level for the war. As a matter of fact, it probably goes lower statistically since the ships defence will improve with their own tech.

But maybe the FB could have a small improvement (1) later on to compensate a little?

The Dutch one has sunk a BB twice against me so far...

So they are powerful enough for me...few FBs are built if ever any...they are normally only there is a country is a minor ally or has one to start.

That's weird I never actually looked at the naval air rating for fighters it quit bad , a 1 which is weird I have always found them better then Tac. bombers for naval attack

The dive bomber was the plane of choice for sinking ships. While torpedo bombers were lethal with their arsenal they got destroyed way to often to make them viable later in the war. Dropping bombs on ships was better over all.

Dive bomber, torpedo bombers this is a Ground Attack plane from the game perspective. If so, why their range is so low. Last time, I was asking to increase the range of Naval Air specialty starting 1942 level just for this.
