I missed that information anywhere

That is a version without the 'use large addressing' option.
During some testing earlier, we found that the AE wouldn't run for some users with Win 11. Turning off the flag and the EXE worked fine.
So I'm throwing both versions out there in case others can't get the normal AE to run.

It is the same executable just with the option flag disabled.

Do I understand correctly that with this new patch, all Mods (created before this patch) will be incompatible with game and Mods editing is required?

Much love, appreciation, and kudos to you guys for continuing to work on this treasure of a game. Checking out the patch notes I don't see any info about changes to the map, data, scenarios and art? Is there any info about this somewhere?

That is my understanding based on Trugrit's posts, seems they modified the map and data.

It looks that way. Even the DBB scenarios do not quite match the new map

At this time with the Beta you need the official map and map data to play the official scenarios.
That comes with the beta.

A lot of the game elements….ships, planes, groups, devices, bases, etc….are in the scenarios
which stand alone from the game mechanics which are hard coded.

So, if you want to use the New Beta Mechanics to play a mod scenario you will have to import
another map, the map data that supports that map and a mod scenario that works with both
the map and data you have imported and maybe some art work depending on the mod.

If you do this an older mod scenario (not the official scenarios) should run just fine
with the hard coded game mechanics.

So, do you think modders will edit their Mods for new patch or not?

Some might, without an edit the new map can not be used which is a significant part of the update.

It may not be too bad to modify a mod scenario to work with the new map.

For PBEM it would be easier because a lot of the work has already been done.

There are a lot new bases on the new map.

Where is Northway? It’s an airfield in the Alaskan bush.
A location which will likely never see a Japanese boot.

Other new bases are located in the battle zones.

Where is Pearl & Hermes Reef? (Below)

So you just import a mod like DaBigBabes-A and use the editor
to add the new bases to it and the art work if any.

May only take a few hours.

Stay away from the AI.

At the start of the war, P-40B Tomahawks appear at PH. Shouldn't that be Warhawks? Also at Clark, March, & SF.

Edit: I see online that sometimes the P-40B is referred to as the Tomahawk and sometimes as the Warhawk.

I'm intrigued to see that New Orleans and Baton Rouge have been added as off-map ports. However, I'm at a loss as to why the Clemson-class DDs Pope and Pillsbury are stationed in the former at the December 7th start. Shouldn't they be with the Asiatic Fleet?

You only need a fresh install if you want to use the new map and scenarios. That said existing mods will work but you will need to do some modifications to use the new map....GP

Xargun and I have updated our exe files to see how it works out. No map or scenario changes

One thing is that it does not appear that I ever put a unit with Naval Support on a base with a port SPS of 0. :P

The Americans stopped calling them Tomahawks in June 1941. The British called the P-40, P-40B, and the P-40C Tomahawks and then the
P-40D and on were Kittyhawks.

Andy Mac is from Scotland, so he might have that slant on the naming.

Scenario 1 and scenario 2:

These bases have 0 Allied VP multiplier

Aligarh #825
Ambala #827
Amritsar #828
Bikaner #836
Winton #963

Winton also has a 0 Japan VP multiplier

Most of these are hold overs from the original data files

In Scenario 1, Foochow is controlled by the Allies with 21st Chinese BF and the 86th Chinese Corps there

In Scenario 2 and 3, Foochow is controlled by Japan and the same 2 units are present there and no Japanese troops are there.

Nomad wrote: Thu Nov 10, 2022 2:03 am The new map is interesting, but I have a question, what is the purpose of the Jamaica off map hex? It does not seem to be useful.

Also, it appears to be impossible to move a ship from the UK to Aden via Gibraltar, Alexandria, and Suez.
I can answer this: The new map originally had an off-map base for Aruba. I decided that Aruba was not necessary, but instead of redraw that aspect of the map, I changed Aruba to Jamaica, since it is the starting location of HMS Indomitable in the 1941 scenarios. I agree it will be of limited use besides that, except to serve as a possible staging point for TFs moving around off-map.

I will take a look at that. Foochow should be Nationalist Chinese controlled in all 1941 start scenarios.
