Several game dialogs do not handle DPI scaling

Post by Shadrach »

Hi!
First of all congratulation on the release - it's looking really good and can't wait to get digging properly into it

But unfortunately a bug report:
Several of the core game dialogs do not handle DPI scaling in Windows 10 well. After minimizing them, they do not restore back to the original size. There may be other dialogs that do this is well, more playtime will tell.

Here's a video showing the issue: https://ttm.sh/055.mp4

As you can see, the orders, command and mini-map are affected by this. They also seem to require a "double" click the first time minimizing.

This does not happen with DPI scaling set to "System". But of course this makes everything look blurry (and crap TBH).

This is on Windows 10 x64 22H2. Running on a 2560x1440 screen with 150% DPI scaling.
The game otherwise looks really great - crisp and clear - and I need the extra DPI scaling for my old eyes so running it without scaling is not an option.

Thanks for the report. We put a lot of effort in DPI scaling and related issues. I'm sorry it is not working well for you but I will dig into it and see what can be done.

To start with I'm going to log your message into our tracking system and then see about reproducing the problems. Stay tuned!

That little video is pure gold to us. Thanks for taking the time to make it. I should be able to reproduce, and therefore fix, the problems in those floating info panels now.

Thanks again, cheers, Rob C
