Ship Modding

Post by MadogLlewellyn »

Is there a hard code in the latest database the doesn't allow you to modify the Iowa Class Battleships with new radars and SM-6 series missiles? Because no matter how I configure them I can't get the missiles to link up to the FCRs and AEGIS system.

All other ships I can get this to work almost no matter what the ship.

Can you confirm if you're using DB497A and 1294.1? If so, you can use Comms Editor to also add AEGIS Datalinks.
Modern weapon systems such as SM-6 Blk IB certainly work for me on the old BBs. I've attached a ZIP file with a few that I've played around with.

I've got that database running.... I can't add any AEGIS command link via the sensor... they don't come up to add. I can only add the SPY-1B and SPG-62 FCRs.

You have to add AEGIS via the Comms window, not Sensor window

I must be missing something I have the Complete download for Command Modern Operations and can not find any button or window that pulls up the communications of each ship to edit.... I can only see what communications ships have via the damage control window.

The only how to videos I've found are for the older Command Air Naval Operations game.

Do you not see these buttons in the editor? Are these what you are looking for?

What build number are you on? (i.e. 1297.1)... I feel as if adding/editing comms or datalinks was just recently added in a beta build several months ago, so, depending on your build number, you may or may not see the "comms" button in the "Unit Status" panel...

If you are using the stable version you have to add the comm via Lua using updatedUnit function
