small game screen

Post by admiralT »

I love this game. I stopped playing it a few years ago because it started acting weird. For the first couple of turns no problem: then my computer would start a second game. This made it impossible to play. uninstalled it. Recently I tried again. I installed the latest update plus that beta update. Now when I start it the game screen is about 4" x 6" in size. What do I need to do to increase the size. :?

Have you read the thread about performance problems - slow response etc.? That will introduce you to the text 'switches' necessary to make the game work with modern hardware and changed Windows OS. It take a little time to work out what switches work best with your system but once you have them installed, you don't have to touch them until another hardware or OS change interferes with game play. There is even a utility (SeaBee Alpha) that will take your switch and resolution selections and install them properly in the shortcut icon to the game. It sounds complicated, but once you read the lavishly illustrated thread and understand what the switches are doing it is pretty straightforward.

If you are having trouble, come back here and post what your switch string is and a screenshot of the properties of your game shortcut (not the Autorun.exe shortcut which just brings up a menu). Also be careful to use the hyphen from the top of the keyboard rather than the minus sign on the numeric keys.

Yes, SeaBee is the way to install the game.

Old game with many quirks. Follow advice given above and then download latest patch but wait for beta as there'e a new one due.
