I love this game but

Post by pookiebear »

Having grown up with all the bad ass war movies like Saving private ryan and especially Enemy at the gates i am fascinated since a young child with WW2 and especially the eastern front and its beautiful wintery landscapes.
Yes i like to roleplay as a 60 year old grumpy german general and control the best army in history of mankind....this game is kind of like a dream came true for me

Everything about is is perfect
But can u make it more playable and user friendly...the depth is already great imo
When i play i like to really get into it and control every regiment division army army group seperately..maybe itl take me 10 years to finish even 1 game but this is how i enjoy it...So i have to calculate many things (like routes etc) and i got some excell spreadsheets that help me visualize many things (supply wise for example)

This is my biggest 2 problems i have with the game and features that could make the game alot better imo:

1. If the engine could show u wich route was the fastest to a certain point from a certain point(i dont know how exactly but im sure some smart people can figure out a nice system)
2. If the engine could show u how it is calculating everything in a easy overview (Movement points)

Problem #2 is not even that hard to do urself but really it takes too much time..too many variables in MP
I prefer to use the little brainpower i have for strategical thinking not calculating mps :D

Basicly some logistical tools
What do other people think..maybe its just me :D
Are there plans for a WITE 3?

I am not sure if I got your point,....but my game always uses the cheapest MP-way.

Weather changes, and therefore MPs do.
Enemy units move and so may increase MP cost due to ZoC.
After a battle there may be combat delay-points (or what they are called).
Roads reduce MP cost. You can view the road network by using "CTRL+R".

The only constants your have is terrain/rivers, the roads and your units motorization type, everything else is changing frequently.

Three charts to mention concerning MPs are attached.

Thanks for the reply

What i meant was tiles that arent in range....for example something thats far away
When it is in range like in ur screenshot then yes it works fine

Also what would be neat if u could just draw a line and it just calculates how much ur route costs in terms of mp

In general,

Clear

Roads

Rail Tracks

Usually, a continuous path of the above is the fastest. Where it gets hard is when you have some poor terrain interspersed into multiple good routes. I think the swamp is the absolute worst.

Even if you were driving from NYC to Pittsburg who can say when a trailer jack knifes. You got to roll with it. Quite literally.

Weidrock - are those charts above found in the game? I haven't seen them yet.

Some can be found in the Manual IIRC, and they are available in the Editor "WEATHER-TAB" ....there are some Sub-Menus where you can find them.
