Transportation Lines Mod (v2.1 update)

This mod is out-of-date.
The most recent version is folded in with the
terrain mod here: https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4871471



v1.0 original release
v2.0 update: Fixed joins, cleaned up graphics.
v2.1 update: Minor alignments on a couple joins cleaned up


Transportation Lines Mod v2.1 download

To install:
(1) Back up original C:\Matrix Games\Shadow Empire\graphics (just in case)
(2) Download the zip file at the above link (see image below)
(3) Unpack the zip file to C:\Matrix Games\Shadow Empire (overwriting files in the folder C:\Matrix Games\Shadow Empire\graphics)

Only the transportation lines (dirt roads, asphalt roads and rail roads) will be overwritten - all other images will remain as is.

I like it in general, but question; is it possible to get the join a little tighter? Just asking, could be hard to do, I don't know.

Yes, the artwork is good. The dirt roads look dirty. I like the dividing lines on the sealed roads. But you can see the joins between hexes, and that kind of ruins it. As Ziggy said, that seems like an awful lot of work to get right.

Nice one, but i agree with the joins. They kind of kill the good.

You're welcome.

It's hard to fully debug a mod like this because I can only see all the join combinations when they finally occur in one of my games. I've build a grid to help align things, but still subtle dis-joins can lurk.

So, I expect another update or two (or three) before it's all settled. If anyone finds dis-jointed joins, posting a pic here would help me fix it.

Well done. RRs and paved roads look too much alike in the base game and dirt roads were too lightly colored. Your mod fixes that.

"out of date" meant the old transportation line mod used the base-game graphics folder because the mod was developed before Vic created the GraphicsAlt folder. So, I and incorporated it with the terrain mod that properly used the GraphicsAlt folder and made mild updates to the transportation lines in that mod.

However, if you prefer the transportation lines only, without all the terrain mods, that is easy to extract. I did so and attached the extraction from the Terrain Mod v3.4 below. Simply unzip and copy to the /GraphicsAlt folder.
