Relieved Ship Captains
When a ship captain is replaced, does he come back for us to use after a certain amount of time?
Is it random? Do some of them never come back for future assignments?
How does this work exactly?

Re: Relieved Ship Captains
I think they go to reserve after certain time.
Maybe 30-60 days (?) for ship commanders.

All Commanders are immediately available for reassignment.

My understanding is that Ship Captains relieve themselves every time torpedoes are shot at them ...

Re: Relieved Ship Captains
I removed Rear Admiral McMorris from the heavy cruiser San Francisco so I could assign him to a battleship instead, but he has not been available for reassignment. He has disappeared.

Re: Relieved Ship Captains
I've noticed the same thing with certain air squadron commanders. When their air unit gets pulled, they seem to go on a long sabbatical somewhere even if I've transferred them out of that unit ahead of time.Admiral Scott wrote: Sun Jan 07, 2024 5:35 pm I removed Rear Admiral McMorris from the heavy cruiser San Francisco so I could assign him to a battleship instead, but he has not been available for reassignment. Re: Relieved Ship Captains
Maybe he needs to be a higher rank to command a battleship? Try changing a commander on another CA/CL and see if McMorris is available.

Re: Relieved Ship Captains
McMorris disappears. I wonder if he comes back later in the game.

Re: Relieved Ship Captains
Look in the editor. McMorris is an admiral and might show as a TF leader in the database, not a ship commander. If you request an admiral for the TF you could probably see McMorris on the list.Admiral Scott wrote: Mon Jan 08, 2024 2:53 amI did check to see if he was available for a TF, ....nope.RangerJoe wrote: Mon Jan 08, 2024 2:37 amCheck you TF leaders . . .Admiral Scott wrote: Sun Jan 07, 2024 7:32 pm McMorris disappears. Re: Relieved Ship Captains
So this will be fixed very soon in the patch?
Re: Relieved Ship Captains
I don't know, you will have to ask in the appropriate thread.
