Recently bought the game.
Love the atmosphere, the detail, the challenge.
So far 1 major victory in bootcamp 1 and 3 major defeats in bootcamp 2.
Let's try number 3 :)
Also a big thumbs up for the bootcamp video's and other playthrough video's online.

One question: Does firing at the enemy (using action points) affect the ability of your troops to defend during the enemy’s turn when he assaults your position?
IOW: Are you able to defend against assaults when AP’s are low/depleted?
I already read that depleting your AP affects your margin for opportunity fire.

Thanks in advance,

If your units fire, they can still defend against an assault, just not with any bonuses of not firing.

Of course, if you expend all the Action Points during your turn, you don't have any opportunity fire. There are times when this is good and it is not.

Excellent!

There's a good video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3iOc17Ug4U

That goes in to it fairly clearly.

Ok, First playthrough of bootcamp 3 resulted in a minor defeat (+- 270 points).
Two questions:
1) One Huey wasn't able to load any troops. Not enough capacity. I tried Inf platoons and leaders, but to no avail. What could be the reason?
2) Is there a quick way of identifying to which company your units belong? At the moment I select the unit and then press F2.

Thanks!

The 2 Strength Point helicopter can only carry the leader. It doesn't have enough strength points to carry the infantry. In that case, make sure you're only selecting the helicopter and leader to load.

Apart from picking the leader (as the leader name identifies the company) and highlighting the company, no, F2 is currently the only way.

Quick update after a second playthrough of bootcamp 3.
566 points, minor victory.
Got A Coy back to Dak II, but was one turn short of getting them back in the Firebase.
As said before on this forum, following the instructions step by step does help a lot in achieving points and a victory.
Great game, on to BC 4.

That's awesome!

Yes, following instructions is vital.

Keep in mind, the scenarios aren't as strict, but they still expect you to follow the briefings.

Just to say that I’m still enjoying this gem.
Having played a French scenario today, 1948, capturing all location objectives, but failing to capture the enemy leader and depot resulting in a minor defeat ;)
Big thumbs up!
