We will be announcing the release date in due course, but I'm afraid you'll have to wait until the game has been released for commentary from the beta team.

In the meantime, you can learn a few things from our dev diaries, and there will be more to come on that front before release. ;)

OK Bill I'm patient but is there any new game mechanics to look forward to or is this just a bigger map and the same old sprites and SC3 features we've seen for the last 5 years?

It's tough to make a good game, let alone a classic.
Even with a great engine, takes alot of work to fit make the shoe fit.
Maps, distances, features, 2-player action, balance, random events, variants, etc.

I lean to the simple more than the complex.
There's all kinds of games, that have too much detail.
I'm old, biased, and really don't want to learn much more new.
I only speak for myself.

First Player Shooters are probably the easiest to make these days, just tweak graphics.
FPS can turn Fortnight into "anything else" with new skins.
Play pool, 8-ball 2-player and 3-player cut-throat remains.
Casino, it's Texas Hold em', Pokémon still going strong.
All kinds of boards game, I love Ticket To Ride, online

Gonna be honest, this might be tough.
Might need some new features, such as "Intercepts" and "Reactions" for Ships/Planes.
Including Planes to Intercept Ships.

Beach counters, better supply rules, different types of Fortresses.

No clue what's gonna happen, open mind.

Looking forward.
