Ships lose contact with division and then do stupid things

Rule the Waves III is a simulation of naval ship design and construction, fleet management and naval warfare from 1890 to 1970. and will place you in the role of 'Grand Admiral' of a navy from the time when steam and iron dominated warship design up to the missile age.

It is really frustrating from the player's point of view for a ship to wander away from your squadron, go get itself killed for no reason, and you as the player can do nothing at all about it other than to curse the stupidity of the commander. If you are on Captain's mode, at a minimum you should be able to take control of one of your ships that is actually in contact with the enemy even if they have "misunderstood signals".

Also, ships that have been detached and are heading for a friendly port should not "misunderstand signals" and drive off into the deep ocean to sink.

Sorry, I've moved on in my game to where we have radios and stupidity is less likely to go unnoticed, but if I see something I'll give you a save.
