1. Someone asks about the status of the patch.

2. Someone else replies "soon" just a few problems left to fix.

3. We're told it's in Matrix's hands and "testing".

4. A new problem or bug is then discovered while testing, or maybe just playing with the only publicly released version.

5. Relative silence then prevails for weeks as we wait.

6. People start getting sarcastic and making jokes about the patch (me included) and its issues.

7. Item 1 then gets repeated.

Things have been more or less been going this way for about a year (give or take) now. I'm all for getting the best possible patch out with as few issues (and hopefully none) as possible and people have really tried hard. We certainly don't want a final patch mess that needs a patch itself that it may never get, but there comes a point where somebody just has to say we've done the best we can, and things just can't be fixed without breaking something else.

Maybe the point of diminishing returns has arrived? Just my opinion based on what I've read here.
Everything is correct here but it has been over two years since beta 1.

Soon...

Don't disband TFs . . .

You can click on the TF to add or remove ships, you can remove all of the ships that way which effectively disbands the TF without pressing any keys.

Is the whole "Disband TF confirmation button" really necessary though? We already go through so many clicks in the game and now they want to add even more clicks to that LOL.

Because accidental disbandment causes way more clicks and grief than one extra click to confirm the disbandment. At high resolutions the space between choices in that part of the screen is small and the mouse movement is often imprecise because of Microsoft's proportional movment (the cursor doesn't stop when your hand does).

When this subject was first brought up, a request for something in the preferences may have been possible. Look back and see just when it was brought up since I am too lazy. I do not know if it would be possible to change things at this stage.

That issue do not apply to everyone, so it should be an option.

Don't know if it was on the list, but a TF base to return to should can also be another TF. That way you can send a build a mini TF from main TF that will return to the main TF.

Would be nice to have that happen automatically, but I doubt there is enough space on the TF screen to add that kind of option. It is basically automating the "Meet TF" option in the Routing instructions which you can do manually, but not until the 'mini-TF' has been split from the main TF. Also note that the Meet TF option does not work when the other TF is on Patrol settings.

This could be in the Set Home Port field, instead of base it will be a TF. I am ware of the issues of meeting with patrol.

No it's not. If you do do it, swear and get on. If there going to do it it should be an option feature.

You could go on and 'what happened is I accidentaly click on 'Do you want to disand''. Are you going to have another option confirming that. It's nonesense.

That would be fine, but the click box does not work.

I suggest making a poll (push-button "Yes" or "No") with question: do you like new innovation with Disband TF? Then we will see majority who liked it. And it would be desirable to pin such a questionnaire somewhere or create a separate topic.

I think that a good dose of common sense can avoid a poll.

The new option has been made to help mainly new or unexperienced users to make a mistake that can cost much more than a single mouse click.
And if someone make an error and press it it don't seem to me a dramatic result answering Y or N to the disband or not question.
So i cannot understand why eliminate an option that ca be helpful and that everyone can ignore if he wants.
I conclude saying that this is a game and asking for elimination of the option so to penalyze an inadvertite choyce from a user justifying it with "learn the lesson and pay more attention next time" seems to me not in the nature of this forum and his community always trying to help everyone.

The presence of the additional button in the mask has no effect for who don't want to use it.

I accidentally click the disband option quite frequently so I guess that I am a new or inexperienced user.
