Oh ye of little faith! Have no doubt, "Matrix has it and it'll be soon, two or three weeks." ;)
Last night I went ahead and uninstalled WItP-AE. This will be the first time since the initial release that it has not been on any computer that I've owned.

Should the final patch EVER get released I'll consider reinstalling and playing again (I haven't really played either vs AI or PBEM since the patch was announced and I foolishly allowed myself to get my hopes up). Honestly, a full campaign takes an enormous amount of time as we well know, and I have to think about how much I'm willing to invest since I'm not getting any younger.

All things considered I've gotten my money's worth and much more from both playing and tinkering with the editor over the years so I can't really complain. For right now though I can't justify having a program that I really don't use any more taking up space, so WiTP-AE had to go along with a slew of other programs in a general house cleaning.

Maybe one day the fabled patch will be available though I now have my doubts, but that's OK.
You're being so dramatic lol WITP AE is literally 1GB or so on the drive. I do agree with you about how brutally long it takes to play a full campaign in this game though. The time investment it asks for just a single campaign is insane.
Dramatic? I guess so. Really I'm sick and tired of waiting and waiting for how long? Two years? They say patience is a virtue but all we get is "right around the corner", " soon", just a few more things", "testing". And of course we get reminded that it's FREE, meaning all of us ungrateful people should just shut up. I just don't feel very virtuous anymore.

Now some people are advocating for new features or controls to be added. This normally wouldn't be a big deal, and some suggestions are good, but with THIS patch it's liable to add months more time if any of the ideas were adopted.

So yeah, guess I am being a drama queen but for me enough is enough. I've had my say and I'm done posting about this. Really its a waste of time anyway. I won't let the door hit me you know where on the way out.

I was just talking about the part of saving storage by deleting WITP AE when it's only 1GB. But beside that I think we are lucky to get a patch at all. I just hope it will really be the last patch so I won't have to reset my campaigns again after applying new patches. Since my game has just reached March 1942 I really hope they are going to take time with the new patch, I don't mind waiting for 3 more years for my campaign to be done first.

Too bad we can't start an anchor pool. Everyone pitches in a few bucks and the winner takes all.
I'll take Christmas - I just won't say for what year....

If you want to start a pool, how about one for the people making the update so when it is done, they can have a beer or three?

GG Eagle Day to Bombing the Reich just put out a "final" patch...as did WITE2 a few weeks back...does that mean that WITPAE is next? :D

Hopefully. The ability to adjust the game within the interface portion of ED/BtR makes the game very much playable again. It is still the game that only an obsessive compulsive micromanager will love (which I am) but now it runs somewhat normally.

Even if it will come i am not optimistic it will fix things like the very high chance of torpedo bombers hitting ships with bombs instead of torpedoes at 5000-10000ft, even one aircraft putting 2 bombs into a ship. Level bombers with torpedoes not attacking cargo and troops ships with 99 morale and single digits fatigue but attacking every PT boat in a coastal hex. And also it will not stop AI cheating.

I blame Gary Grigsby...he just loved outliers in Gaussian distribution... :D 8-)

I'm still pinning my hopes on a 7 December 2041 release for this patch. Unfortunately, the latest update from Mr Wilkerson states that they are about halfway there. Well, we know that they tend to exaggerate when things may be completed. I take it to mean that they are probably about a quarter of the way done....this after two years and ten months plus of the announcement of a patch. By my reckoning, four times 2 years and ten months plus, makes the release date somewhere in the neighborhood of 8 years and 40 months plus.

This seems to work out to be 11 years and 4 months plus.

Unfortunately, this seems to be about a year and a few months short of the 100th marking of the Pearl Harbor fiasco.

Such sad tidings to announce. Admit it, 100 years is the schedule.
