Question about Ship Availability and End of Scenario

Post by Deadman72 »

Hey all,

New Admiral here. Love it so far. Playing Guadalcanal as the Japanese and kicking hind quarters with a major victory so far. After the US took Lunga and Tulagi, I split my capital ships into 3 TFs and chased them right into Noumea harbor and did a lot of damage right off the bat. I then kept rotating TFs in and out. Hit the bases all down the line. Their naval power has been a shell of itself since. Ships sunk 106 to 20. I want those carriers though as they have escaped my iron grip. I suspect the BB/CVs are in the shipyard at Sydney. Took PM with troops through Buna (staging area) and the trail. I'm fairly certain there was a great deal of luck involved. I just can't get my ships that are available (or should be) to show up at Turk. I can see the screen in the Intel section, and the initial wave all say ETA 1 day. It's now January 17th and they still haven't shown up. What am I missing? I tried searching the manual, reading AARs, and searching the message board but I'm still drawing a blank. I'm sure it's something stupid. Any help would be appreciated.

Is there an "end" screen where the scenario ends and lifts the fog of war/shows the final results or does it just keep going? I played the US in the same scenario for my first game and I'm pretty sure I played past the listed end date and just kept playing for a bit.

Thanks in advance,

Sounds familiar. There have been issues regarding IJN ship reinforcements in the Guadalcanal scenario with the new patch. Check this thread...

Thanks Platoonist for saving my sanity. I'll give that a try.

Any comments on the "end of game" situation? Is there a victory/loss screen with the final results or does it just keep going?

There is a scenario end screen. Just have to wait until the end of the game....GP

If I recall correctly the offical end date for the Guadalcanal scenario is February 7th 1943 so it seems it still has a few weeks to run. I can't remember if the scenario has any auto-victory conditions.

Yeah, that worked like a charm. Gave it a test run with the production off and the ships appeared. Starting a new game on hard. I'm hoping to get put in my place. I was surprised I was able to handle the US so easily on historical. I was running out of planes by end of December but the trade off in damage to their fleet was worth it.
