Not 100% sure, but the "mission" needs to be large, so not the weekly total Sorties but the individual flight.ncc1701e wrote: Sun Feb 09, 2025 8:10 amThank you. But there is also the strategy to make many, many Missions with single planes to detect enemies which works.

Where is this freight shipment line going? Pressing the 8 hotkey to Show freight shipments, there is a line going from Sevastopol to nowhere?

Re: Quick Questions Thread
It's going to hex 0,0. Not sure why that is, could be it's due to a bug involving a unit that is incorrectly showing in 0,0 or a unit that has been destroyed but still received freight for some strange (and unintended) reason. You could open a tech support area bug report and upload a save (or email to 2by3@2by3games.com) and I can take a look, but not sure if I will be able to determine what unit the line is going too. Best to watch and see if it happens again (or if you have saves, look to see if it's happened on other turns). Since you mentioned Sevastopol, likely it has to do with the City Fort in the hex and some oddity with how the location of units in city forts are tracked in the data (in which case it may just be 100% display bug with the line and all else working fine).
All understanding comes after the fact.

May it be the Naval Guns (Regiment'ish) related to the Amphibious/Naval HQ.which give fire support on landings?

"Air Groups in the National Reserve are considered to
undertake training missions.
Training missions can result in an increase in pilot
experience and a possible increase in the air group unit
morale rating. "
- Do units on the map ever "train", ie. increase experience, when not flying missions? Morale will increase when resting.
- "Rest" and "Hold" (on the AoG unit) is the same?
- Since air units dont have specific pilots in the National Reserve, what "pilot experience" is the manual referring to? The Experience Level of the air unit itself?
- What does it matter to have experienced air units in the reserve, if you dont have enough experienced pilots in the pools, to fill them, when they are placed on the map?
I find it hard to wrap my head around how to rest, train and grow the (Soviet) air units early war. When is it best to send to the National Reserve, and when is it best to keep air units on the map, and let them regain morale in quite positions further back?

Re: Quick Questions Thread
The first thing to be said is I am not sure that the Sov airforce really matters. It seems to be great at being shot out of the sky and a successful bombing mission usually destroys a couple of support elements.
In practical terms once the Sov air unit has experience of 50+ it rarely gains any more.
Air units in Reserve dont have pilots allocated, but when the unit is swapped to the map it is allocated pilots where the average of the pilots experience = unit experience. (I think the system just makes up pilots with the required experience to suit the math).
Read M60A3TTS excellent AAR for indepth analysis of the air war.

When you disband a depot where do the trucks go? Is there any way of tracking them via a 'count' somewhere?

What is a good use for the initial AA units in the Axis reserve in the 1941 start setup?
- I think all TBs have enough AA for garrison size purpose?
- Should I use them to protect important supply hubs in the USSR? (Minsk, Riga, Kiev, etc), from Soviet bombing campaigns? Is it better to attach them to HQs or cities themselves? Do I have to spend AP to remove them from cities in the future?
- The smaller one probably better to go front line units to protect them from Soviet bombing?

Re: Quick Questions Thread
Hi guys.
Do you know of any PBEM games that would be as complex and deep as WITE, but would cover a different time period? For example, the Napoleonic Wars or the Cold War. I would really like to play a game of the size and scope of WITE, with the same logistics and command&control issues, but in a different time period. I guess there are no such games?

Complex and deep like witp and wite i dont think you can find. Take a look to AGEOD and SGS games. They are not bad games and I have enjoyed some of them.
Re: Quick Questions Thread
I try to get my hands into logistics:
Why does the game just allocate 20 trucks in that depot? My units have to use a lot of trucks and doesn't that cause their MPs to drop? In my motor Pool there are still 1233 vehicles. I am playing the Road to Leningrad scenario if this matters

Re: Quick Questions Thread
You're always going to have some number of vehicles in the pool as they are driving around, being repaired, coming out of depots or units that no longer need them, or newly built vehicles. Depending on the sequence of actions, there's always some in your pool after the logistics phase. The system goes where needed as the depots start giving out supplies/replacements. You don't control the automatic movement of the vehicles. What you control is the priority you set on the depots and the priority you set on the units (and if in refit), and these things impact who gets to use the vehicles first. You can expect as you drive further from your pre-invasion depots, that you won't have enough vehicles in the depots to drive the long distances to get what the units are asking for, so yes you will lose MPs as your unit uses it's organic vehicles. That's why you can't just put everyone on priority 4 (you can, but you may not like the results). Your unit will send your trucks driving miles to the rear to get what the unit wants, so you may get more fuel/ammo/supplies/replacements, but you will have less MPs to take advantage of the being stocked up.James80 wrote: Sun Feb 16, 2025 9:29 am I try to get my hands into logistics:

Re: Quick Questions Thread
Hi Joel,
thanks for explaining it. What confuses me is that the depot directly below it has a priority of 3 (not 4) and has 266 trucks. It is the same turn. I would have expected the opposite.

Re: Quick Questions Thread
Units will try to draw from the nearest depot, so depots further forward will draw in trucks to deliver the freight unit all the freight in the depot is gone. Depending on which units on the map are checking first, and where the freight is located, trucks could end up just about anywhere.

I read that it will be a Middle East war game, but I'm not sure if that's true. Maybe the theme of the upcoming game is already known? Will it be a large-scale complex game like WITE, or a smaller one?AuloeSol wrote: Sun Feb 16, 2025 9:06 am

It is kinda confirmed that there is naval combat in the new game, so I think middle east is ruled out. Maybe new game is focused in naval-air combat in the ETO...to be joined with wite2 somehow?
