1943 Inu Jima

1943 Inu Jima is a hypothetical invasion of an IJA held island. The scenario is designed to be played as a player controlled USMC invasion force against a PO controlled IJA defense. The USMC objective is to locate and destroy the IJA Army HQ within 30 one day turns. Failing that a Theater Option is available to extend the scenario to 100 turns.

To give the scenario a little replay value, the IJA Army HQ is randomly located and the IJA objective tracks optimized for protection of the HQ. There is also a chance that IJA reinforcements will secretly arrive and/or a battleship task force will deploy to bombard beachheads. Add in heat waves, pestilence outbreaks, variable troop/task force withdrawals, random enemy formation deployments and no pre-planned landing zones, no two games should ever be the same. Also note that the invasion points are totally controlled by the player. Allied supply points will appear at coastal beach and port hexes; ports handle a higher volume of supply than supply points located on beach hexes.

When starting a game select IJA as the computer player.

Great scenario, congratulations.
I really liked the settings of the counters and the weapon database.

Good morning, it would be interesting to further develop the database of both weapon type silhouettes and also by modifying specialty icons, for example eliminating battleship BB and introducing missile-launching frigates FFG, missile-launching submarines SSGN and also missile-launching corvettes. creating the missing NATO standard icons for example for UAVs, drones, maritime drones as well as the different types of mechanized infantry, on wheels etc.
I would like to try to use them in my 8.0 Ukraine on fire 2022 scenario instead of the vehicle and weapon silhouettes.
Or if you explain to me how to do it using appropriate programs I am not able to program without instructions.

A custom icon set for your scenario would be excellent, but I’m unsure whether you want to change the Counter Unit file, Equipment256 file or both. You would probably also need to modify the GameText file. Whatever you decide I think the first thing you need to do is find existing NATO unit symbols (or make your own) and plan where in the Counter Unit file they will be placed. Keeping in mind that many of the Counter Units have hard coded characteristics which cannot be overwritten by the scenario designer. The Euipment256 file does not have that problem.

After you have a plan, we can help you get them into your scenario. If some of the icons are difficult to draw, we can solicit help from an expert, such as a graphic artist like Redass. He did the magic in making the WotR scenario graphics.

Thanks for your interest, I knew this site https://www.battleorder.org/icons for icons updated according to US Army/NATO symbology. The problem is how to update them and insert them into the Equipment256 folder and the Units folder to create databases updated to the current era.
