Units stalled in Production queue

Post by wevilc »

Nov 40 playing the Allies. Various allied nations have units scheduled by the game (ie not rebuilds) to have arrived by now, yet they haven’t. Any possible/likely reasons why not.

Also, & this happens every game, the UK has a destroyer in the New Units dropdown that it can never deploy. The ‘OK’ button is greyed out. Is it a bug of some kind?

Some reinforcements are location specific. If the location is occupied by friendly or enemy unit(s) they can't be deployed.

Might that be your issue?

No, it’s not that. That UK destroyer, for example, can materialise at any number of ports but fails to do so. The main issue resolved in subsequent turns but I remain mystified.

maybe it would help if you post screenshots? Btw, arrivals aren't just categorized by month, but also year. So you can see some units which will come in let's say, May, but only in 41 or 42.

I am such a noob I don’t know how to take a screenshot on my PC. I do understand the game shows scheduled units whose time has not yet come.

type snipping tool in the search bar of your pc. or otherwise look up a tutorial for it online if you use smt like apple. It should have similar tool.

Then you save the screenshot in the tool, there should be a save as button. Then upload the picture by choosing attachments and then add files below the submit button on this page.

Is it the case that the new units button is lit up and you are prompted to deploy these units, but cannot?

Early in the war, British Destroyers are scheduled to deploy at Clyde and Ambrose, but if you already have the port and adjacent sea hexes full of vessels, then you will need to move one elsewhere in order for the new ship(s) to be able to deploy.

No. The new units button was not lit up.

I’ll free up the Clyde & see what happens. Thanks.

Now resolved. I had to clear Ambrose to get the destroyer on the map. I’ve been looking at the word ‘Ambrose’ thinking it was the name of the destroyer & not realising it’s actually a place. How dumb is that?

Not dumb at all. You don't know what you don't know. Took me ages to work out how to operate air units!
