Strategic Command WWII: War in the Pacific - Rise and Fall of an Empire - DLC Announced

Post by NotTooBad »

We’re thrilled to announce the first DLC for Strategic Command WWII - War in the Pacific: Rise and Fall of an Empire. This expansion explores Japan’s turbulent journey through World War II, featuring six meticulously crafted campaigns spanning from 1937 to 1946.

Relive key historical moments, from the opening shots at the Marco Polo Bridge to the desperate final battles for Japan’s home islands. With expanded maps, deeper strategic choices, and new historical leaders, Rise and Fall of an Empire will challenge even the most seasoned commanders.

But that’s not all. We’re looking for your feedback. Want to be among the first to play? Join the beta and share your thoughts, your insights are invaluable.

Everything in Steam indicates that I have successfully updated to the Beta version. However, I do not see any DLC content in the game itself. As far as I can tell, I have completed each step as described.

Unfortunately, I have the same problem. I also cannot see any new content. Unfortunately, the drop down box for the beta branch is now also empty. Hope there is a solution for that.

Please can you post about issues like this within the beta forum.

Just to clarify (to save you reposting unnecessarily there) currently there are just two DLC campaigns available for beta testing, 1937 Marco Polo and 1945 Okinawa, with more to follow.

Hi , I enjoy Strategic Command games like the Civil War, WW1 and WW2,etc with the editor that is easy to use. I would like to request if it is all possible that you would consider having a Strategic Command game based on the American Revolution and the Korean War and Vietnam War. I would love to spend many hours playing with these games. Thank You!

This morning I purchased this game on Steam. Having played WITP-AE for over 20 years, I didn't expect any problems. I was badly mistaken. I'm not completely unfamiliar with SC games, having played the American Civil War game a few times. That game came with a very detailed tutorial that explained how to play the first few turns of that game, including naval movement/combat.
After watching the first turn of the 1941 scenario, I couldn't even figure out how to save the game until I learned what to do. Possibly because I'm legally blind, I couldn't find any detailed information (like in the ACW game). Where is a tutorial or information about how to play the game???? Please advise.

Hi

The game does come with a Manual and Strategy Guides for all campaigns that can be accessed either via the Launcher, or while playing via the buttons at the top right of the screen.

The Manual includes a chapter (pages 23 to 63) on the User Interface, which is in its functionality identical to our other games.

I hope this helps.

OK. Keep in mind this is the first time I've ever bought a game via Steam. For decades, I have purchased the boxed version. So, I went back on Steam and looked through everything I could read on the main screens. First, I never saw anything with the word "manual" or "tutorial." Rather, I saw "Deverloper diaries" and "notes." In short, I tried to find a game manual/tutorial and couldn't find it. Please tell me exactly the name of what I should look for. Thank you, Norman

When you start the game on Steam, the first thing that will appear is the Launcher.

On the right hand side there will be a number of buttons, e.g.

Play
Editor
Manual
Guides

Clicking on Manual will open up a pdf file.

Or you can open it up via one of the buttons at the top right of the game while playing a turn.

I finally figured it out. The PLAY button does much more than start the game--it opens up access to the manual and the tutorial stuff. For idiots like me, it might be wise to add a second button that says something like: "start here for how to play rhe game." This problem doesn't normally happen with the boxed games that come with printed manuals enclosed. Thank you for the help. Norm
