After strapping 4 Mk141 quad harpoon launchers to an LCS plus a 64 Cell VLS filled with 256 ESSM I'm actually pretty sure the LCS kicks ass. [:D]

In theory sure. In practice probably not.

Looks like there will be a competition next year to see what exactly gets fielded.

As the scenario shows the Griffin is very small and in adequate for dealing with larger combatants without some considerable improvement.

One possible loadout is Brimstone, which has been tested in Sea Spear configuration in salvo launch in Scotland (Youtube video). The other is Rafael's Typhoon has been released (to an unknown nation state customer) with eight NLOS missiles (hint hint - yeah, I'm shameless, I really need this for my Horn of Africa) - giving at least a 10nm standoff with mid-course guidance and a bigger punch than Griffin. I would love to have NLOS/Loiter-attack munitions.

A 50km range multi-function strike missile could suddenly make LCSes very relevant.

As in TF Mizokami in TacOps. Wow. I bought TacOps somewhere around 1995, and was on an AOL mailing list with the Major and a bunch of others. That was my 2nd war-game I think, and the one that probably made me a bit hardcore. First was Gold Juno Sword by 360/Atomic, which I still think is in my top 5 games of all time.

TacOps looks a bit like Matrix' Command Ops - which is also a nice simulator :)

Tacops 4? Try the original Tacops for the Mac ;-P I played that to death and then got 3&4 for the PC later.

Mizokami replayed an updated version of the scenario in 2020 in CMO, Independence-class LCS 2 instead of 1, armed with NSM among other changes.

I cannot find it, did he edit the scenario?
