Unloading woes

Post by Chris21wen »

Think you know everything then...

This ship will not unload. Mili is a level 2 port not damage. The load is 4 x 20cm 41YT CD gun, part of the Spec base force. Each gun apeears to have a load size is 528.

First time I've been caught with this one but I think it's because the gun size is too big for the port to handle. Nothing wrong with that but how can I get it on the island? I've already tried amphib and naval support won't help as that only alters the rate not the size.

May we have a shot of the troop loaded? (click the ship, then click the unit, then screen shot it).

Also, the screen says that you're not unloading and unloading has stopped...

Look at the colour of the "Unload Cargo/Troops" selection. It is too large to unload. You may have to try unloading at another location, then load it amphibiously into 4 other ships. That is, one gun per ship. Another option might be to load them into a Fast Transport TF. I do not guarantee that those methods will work.
Seek peace but keep your gun handy.

I did say I'd already tried amphib TF.

My first attempt was in an amphib TF on multiple xAK as it was originally going to a level 1 port but it upgraded to a level 2 on the way. I knew this would happen and I deliberately selected xAK that would dock in a level 2 as some big stull. like radars won't unload from an amphib TF. They will if docked and thought this would be the same.

As it wouldn't I sent it back to a level 4, unloaded and reloaded into Tr TF, this is the result. I don't think a Fast Tr will work as it unlikely it will load anything that big but I'm sending it back to a a level 4 port and will see if I can.

Looking it up in devices it's load cost is only 176 and not 528 as it seems to indicate on the ship???? The other thing is this is the only mobile unit that has this sized gun all the others being fortresses!

Here's shot of the xAK. It's just got the guns on it.

Look at your cruisers, some of them should be able to carry it if it is only 176. Some of the PBs such as the Ansyu-C PB can easily carry them since they hold 1000 cargo and the PBs can be in a Fast Transport TF along with other vessels that can carry large amounts of cargo.

Also, the date can make a difference since during the amphibious bonus phase the Japanese get the unloading bonus.

You might also try moving some unloading help such as Naval Support there.

Chris your second post sounds like you docked your amphib TF both times. That would make it like a transport TF for purposes of unloading. If you don't dock it, you get a true test of the amphib unload.
That said, the abstracted lighters at a level 2 port might not be big enough to handle those guns. You might have to dock and bring enough Naval Support to raise the port size 3 levels - I think that means 30 squads worth.
And some mods broke up the Naval Support into types that do cargo loading/unloading, ship repairs, and replenishment. I've never played those mods so I don't know how they were differentiated.

Problem solved, it only existed between keyboard and chair. Mainly the inability to read correctly or more precisely the interpretation of what was written. The answer is of course is more naval support and why I had a mental block is any bodies guess.

I read this as meaning the max size of a device that can be unloaded and not daily cargo!

' Naval Support. Naval Support may increase troop and cargo load rates only. Naval Support increases the rate
at which a given ship can be loaded but cannot improve the total cargo handling limitations of the port. Naval
Support adds 10 points to the Troop and Cargo load ability, for each Naval Support squad present.'

Thanks for replies.
