[WAD] AutoSave Issue

Post by DWReese »

I was playing a game for about 6 hours, using the latest beta and db 512, when something occurred that I wasn't expecting.

I remembered that the auto save function was available, and my intention was to go back slightly using the AutoSave, so that I could correct the situation

I clicked on the AutoSave, but it didn't go back far enough.

I then tried AutoSave 20, but that didn't even provide a save to the correct game. I then tried AutoSave 40, and so on, but it was always some other game, not the one that I was currently playing.

I seem to remember this working fine before. Is this a problem, or am I doing something wrong? I tried it on other scenarios, and they all work the same.

If I had to guess, it appears that the other AutoSaves no longer function.

Any suggestions?

I have the feeling that something like this happens to me from time to time. I have not paid too much attention. My theory is that Autosave needs 20 real life continuous (non-paused) seconds. But that is only a feeling.

All of them, after the first AutoSave, are the same.

AS 20, AS 40, AS 60, etc., are all from different games. They aren't from the game being played.

And, this even occurs after the game has been played for hours.

Are you pulling the autosaves from the subfolder with the game name under the autosave folder?

I just tested it in 1706 and it seems to be working as expected.

Are there multiple places in the game where Autosaves are listed?

I am starting the game from the Editor.

My list looks like this:
Autosave
Autosave_20
Autosave_40
Autosave_60
Autosave_80
Autosave_100

When I open up Autosave, it starts the game that I was last playing.

When I open up any of the others, it starts a completely different game from months ago. Those are all the same game, but not the most recent that I was playing. I hope that this describes the situation.

Perhaps there are multiple autosave locations, but the Autosave from this location does play the game that I was just playing, so it would seem that these others should follow suit.

I am using 1706.

Disregard. I have figured out what the issue is.

Each named scenario has its own individual Save list.

The Save list that I was accessing is apparently a generic list and was not affiliated directly with a specific scenario. Therefore, only the the Auto Save would work, while the rest is located within the scenario's own saved files list would not.

Thanks for your help.
