A dummy question...

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

A dummy question...

Post by Alexei »

Hello all,

This is something I want to know since a long long time (maybe since SP1). I have looked at SPWAW manual and I didn't find it...

So the question is: what do the '*' mean in the hit messages ("Bunker is hit ****" or something like that) ?

Thanks,
Alexei.

the * shows the damage the unit got, if your bunker is hit and get for example ***** then the tank is seriously damaged and lost about five men...

Thx Marder. Actually I had the feeling in SP1 that for a tank, the number of '*' was exactly the number of kills in the crew. But in SPWAW I have seen many times 2 or 3 '*' without any member of the crew being killed... (?)

A * indicates a sucessful damage result after penetration. That can be either:

1) a dead crewman + extra suppresion

2) a damaged equipment + extra suppression

3) just extra suppression of the crew (if the unit penetrated doesn't have the thing damaged, or it is already broken or rated 0).
