The screens are amazing.

Thoughts? Well, if they are successful in implementing the game tactics as described, with a easy-to-use and flexible interface, then this sounds gooood.

You can download a gameplay movie here, not so good quality. Looks like recorded with a PDA ;). But it makes it looks promising.

That movie looked amazing.

I mean I agree, the quality of the video itself is clearly crap, but the game play looked outstanding.

Due out in October. Which after applying announced-release-date-to-reality conversion means probably Christmas.

The hot ticket now is "Full Spectrum Warrior"

I cannot stop playing this game. I bought an Xbox just for this and don't regret it at all.

There is even a code that you enter that unlocks the actual game they made for the Army which has customizible maps, etc.

The best tactical squad level game ever. Revolutionary in every way.

I saw a TV presentation some time back. It really looked outstanding.

I played it at a friends house.
It quite good to be the first game of its kind.

It does have some problems however, enimies (and your team) behind cover are immune from bullets no matter how much they pop up to fire...no such thing as a lucky shot.
Basicly you have to flank them or use gernades. Which I dont mind using those tactics but it would be nice if every onece and a while if somone who poped up to take a shot took a bullet.
The gameplay got repetitive for me after a while. Its basicly moving forward picking off an enemy or two...slide forward another enemy or two and repeat ad nasueum. I expect real war was a bit more chaotic than this.
There are also no vehicles present either. It sort of makes you feel like you a spec ops team instead in infantry in an actual war. I would assume you would have tanks and apc's along for support, but not in the game.
It is however an excellent game to be the first effort. I hope it becomes a series and they keep adding an improving aspects of the game.
I give it an 8/10.

Yes, if you and the bad guys are in cover you cannot be hit. But the game is about fire and manouver.

The first few missions are gimme's it gets much more chaotic and nerve racking later on.

On certain missions you have off board artilley and armor support. But the game is about 9 Army Rangers on the ground in combat. It's not about tanks.

Use this code ha2p1py9tur5tle to unlock the actual game made for the Army. Much more customizable with differents maps civilians etc.

My son was so amused I bought an XBOX he gave me "Cronicles of Riddick" which earns a 9.5.

If this is typical of what the Xbox offers, then PC gaming could be a thing of the past for me.

Between these 2 games, I'll probably never leave my cave.

I have been playing Far Cry on my PC for several days now. Its the best shooter that I have played since Half Life and probably the best PC game I have played this year. I cant reccomend it highly enough.

The comments here about FSW, coming from highly qualified people, are strongly inducing me to buy an X-Box!
Is really that good?
Do the enemies appear at the same spot when you re-start the mission? (Not re-playing, a feature I know this game has)
Are the maps of the "tunnel type" (follow the predetermined route while you take out the enemies)?
How much your tactical skills have been challenged?
Your feedback is appreciated.

Yes
They appear in the exact same ambush posistions.
Leads to alot of trial and error game play.
I would however reccomend the game.

Thanks for the feedback.
I will try to rent an X-box and the game itself before buying anything.

That's an interesting point.

FSW is alot like the CC series, only with just 1 squad on the ground in 3D.

Details dude,Details!!

Dont mean to jack the thread.

Just a question....How many of you guys think a CC,CM,SA or maybe some chit style..like KP or HTTR would fly on a X-Box or a PS2?

Ya,it would be weird playing it console but I seem to remember Panzer Generals or somthing like that on the PS1.

Im not saying that the games would go over better on a console Im just saying I think they would work fine.If they sold or not....thats a different story.

Damn X-Box....I cant stand the controler...its got to be the worst ever made.

The PS controler....a work of art!!

The greatest ever was the Atari 2600 joystick....worship it[&o][&o][&o]...simplicity at its best!
I laugh at hurricanes!

Too true! The Ps controller is the only controller that´s really good.

I have no english link yet on the MS hybrid. I only read a german news article about it a few days ago.
