Been away for a while, what happened to Sp:Modern?

SPWaW is a tactical squad-level World War II game on single platoon or up to an entire battalion through Europe and the Pacific (1939 to 1945).

I didn't have an internet commention for a few months, and I've come back and can't see any forum for SP:Modern. Did it die a natural death?
If so, that's pretty sad....

Pretty much.
The plan shifted from a SPWAW-based modern game, to rewriting the SPIII code some, and tweaking the OOBS. Apparently, the Matrix bro's found that the rework would've involved considerable coding and testing time. OOBs were basically finished, though.
So the command-decision was to drop it in favor of a better engine. IIRC, the plan is now to use the CL engine to develop the modern game. That being the case, IMHO a game based on 25meter increments is not going to be too useful for modern combat unless one can make huge maps.
