Quiz Time

Post by MButtazoni »

Who can tell me what's different in this screenshot from all the other screenshots you've seen in the past AARs? This is from our new version (2.301) and there are at least 1/2 a dozen changes in this shot alone.

BTW, more public AARs are on there way...

Fortifications (Sev and Leningrad)
Ports (major and minor?)
Railways (although some AARs had them towards the end)
Quick Reference bar across the top
Resource markers? (crossed hammers)
More areas

All without peaking <g>

Fortifications (Sev and Leningrad) Forts were always there (Sevestapol wasn't tho)
Ports (major and minor?) they were there before, i still am not sure of the different icons in the port circle though
Railways (although some AARs had them towards the end) railroads in since version 2.0
Quick Reference bar across the top see below
Resource markers? (crossed hammers) always been there but they are lowest on the list of what unit to show
More areas yes, but where?
It's being played in a WINDOW???Yes:

Wow! Played in a window that rocks!

I love the thought of being able to run other apps (browser, mail, etc) while playing.

Does it affect performance or is that even an issue with this game?

Still using DirectX or are these windows paint routines now?

no effect as far as i have noticed, in fact it improves performance IMMENSELY when switching between apps.

Definitely looks like more territories in Europe and Russia.

Were planes and troops always displayed seperately? I don't remember...

besides what was noted above; 6 areas were split in this map (5 in SU and the Persia area) as below. The red circle shows a new terrain type "Ferry Crossing"; don't look too hard there's no artwork for it yet, but they are functional.

Good idea...splitting the USSR up a bit more...should make the campaign there a bit more of a challenge against the AI and probably by EM as well. I'm not clear on the use of the RR graphic if the rails are only functional for strategic troop movement when there is a locomotive present in the hex...what am I not getting here?

There are still a lot of graphical changes coming (those railroad train icons should disappear before the final product. It just keeps getting better and better.
