Screen Resolution

Post by VI66_slith »

I am carrying this question over from the WiTP forum. Is there going to be a resolution switching option in this game? I would think that it would be even more important with GGWaW because of the graphics used. I for one am hoping that there is.

If this has already been addressed and I missed it please do forgive.

I like it. I'm going to impose a new rule at work requiring everyone to respond to me in 2 hours or less. I'm sure it will go over well. Especially on a holiday weekend. [8|]

Well, after a forum search I didn't really see anything about differing resolutions. There is zoom though. Hmmm, pretty elite group in here I guess. [:(]

^^^more like only a few people are in beta so there are not to many people who can answer your question

I've been lurking for awhile here now and the people here are anything but elite. They do have real lives though that mean they are not always playing the game or on the boards, especially on the weekends.

I am aware, and I respect the people and the time they put in. A good job couldn't be done without them thats for sure. I've been quite busy myself with WiTP. [8D]

I can't answer for sure, but I don't think it will. Because it uses a much more advanced engine than we are using in WitP, we have greater flexibility, but I can't say exactly what we will end up doing with it. I can't imagine that WitP will ever have any resolution switching.

Thank you very much. The resolution took about half a day for me to get used to in WiTP. I imagine the same would happen with GGWaW. I am very impressed with WiTP by the way, and I anxiously await GGWaW.

I do also apologize for the slight brew-ha-ha here. [:)]

If you can, please go with different resolution options. The small fonts in WitP make some of the text really hard to read.

the screenshots you see here in no way reflect the resolution, size, or crispness of the actual game screens. these are, after all, just 150k jpegs.

I hate to admit it, but I haven't taken many looks at the screenshots here yet. All my comments are just reflective of the difficulty I have of reading some of the text in War in the Pacific.

Hi!

If history is any indication, it will be 1024X768. They do however make very nice looking games IMHO. From what I have seen to this point, it already looks good enough to eat.

Okies. These days though, with 19" monitors being dirt cheap, isn't it time to move on to 1200x1000 at least? ;) Not complaining or anything :P

This game is not like other games that "switch" your screen resolution to match the game setting. This game runs at whatever resolution you run your machine at. I run at 1280x1024.

The game has a windowed mode and a full screen mode. In full screen mode all the screens are stretched to fit whatever resolution you are running at. In windowed mode the map stays the same size (in DPI) but you can make the window any size you want, up to your available screen space.

So there are no "Screen Resolutioin" settings. think of this app more like Word or Excel than the typical game app. No one ever asks what resolution Word runs in. [:D]

Will it work in non 4x3 aspect ratios. Many a game that stretches look (and behave) wrong when played on a 16x9 monitor.
