Landing at Airstrips

I really want to like this game, but the third training mission in the demo has me frustrated. Not only does my wingman always fail to destroy a tower when he fires all 4 of his missiles at once leaving me to destroy them all, but I can never successfully land. I have managed to get clearance and land on the runway, but the mission will not end. As I slowly taxi around the runway, I eventually explode. Makes no sense.

Lastly, when landing I do not have the boxes come up that helped me land in the 2nd mission. I can still do it manually, but again the mission won't end when I do and my wingman either crashes on his attempt or ignores me altogether. Any tips? Am I missing a different airstrip I must land at?

Exiting out of the game completely seems to have fixed something. I tried the mission again and this time, when requesting landing clearence, the boxes appeared to lead me in. My wingman also managed to make it.

If for whatever reason the ILS hoops dont show up press H to cycle hud modes until they do.

Thanks, I'll try that.

Finished the demo last night, bought the game, and downloaded it. Can't wait to play it after work.

Oh gosh, were your comments above based on playing the demo version? The demo has several bugs in this area that were fixed in the most recent patch:

* ILS hoops easier to see in daylight
* Aim point correction for ground targets - your wingman can now actually blow stuff up
* Safer glide path for AI pilots to land

I'm not sure about the blowing up when taxiing thing. Perhaps you were on the wrong runway, or missed the touchdown point...

Anyway, thanks for purchasing!

I've had a problem with landing in a carrier. I slowly flew in, it said docking sequence complete, then my ship exploded.

Disappearance of landing rings could mean a damaged ship, I think... If flight computers and such are damaged, Some things won't display.

I just realized I never put my landing gear down... ever. Works so far.
