The following is why I like this game so much. I play email games and the following happened which I feel I must share.
Germans vs Russian me being the Russian am playing my regular PBEM oponnent when he decides to call in artillery on me, the only problem is his troops are mixed in with mine and he comes out with the ****ty end of the stick, including blowing up one of his own halftracks. The very next turn my Russian cavalary is involved in some really close in fighting with some armored infantry and more halftracks. So here is one of my cavalry squads in the same hex as one of his halftracks and an SS squad. So I figure I have nothing to loose right. So I went for the assault against the halftrack and missed but guess what happened? Another one of his vehicles fires on me, misses and blows up his own halftrack. I thought that was pretty cool. That's why I love this game.

That's some great stuff!!! Once I was overrunning a Russian 76mm AT Gun with a PZKwIII and lost - ARGH!! It made me more careful after that.

This game is great!!

Geez Jack, I thought you'd be the last person to jubilate over this one.

I mean it was only version 4.x when this one was supposed to be condemned and done away with.

Y'all know. If you shoot at a squad it will come out unscathed, but all the other units in the same hex take 'colateral damage'.

It's right up there on my hokey list with lobbing unspotted artillery into the forest and getting enemy casualty reports <img src="eek.gif" border="0">

I once had one of my own strike aircraft get shot down and land on my 3rd Platoon command group. Am I unlucky or what?

EDIT: 4 casualties. Not to mention to the turn before that they stepped into a minefield for 2 additional casualties.

Galka,
It's not that I am jubilant, it's just that I am that impressed with the game. Makes for some funny stuff that's all.

Oh, I see. Sorta like, they wouldn't let that happen in ASL, funny?

Kuroshio, I'll have to buy you a beer sometime and we can commiserate. I had much the same thing happen to me, 1 of my Sturmoviks landed on a reallly experienced paratrop Lt and his squad. Of course this was after a German Flak panzer shot him down for having the audacity to bomb, and blow up one of my T34s.
