Version 1.3, Full Campaign - Jap Player Wanted

Post by KPAX »

I would like to wait until Version 1.3 comes out. This should be any day now.

I am an average player. I presently have two PBEMs going on right now. Playing both sides and having a blast with it. No experts need apply. I do not want to be a door mat.

I am looking to play to the end, have a good time with it, a bit of badgering back and forth is required. [8D]

Here are my thoughts:
1. Sub Doc - Off
2. FOW - On
3. Advanced Weather Effect - On
4. Allied Damage Control - On
5. Historic First Turn - On
6. Vary Setup - Off
7. December 7th Surprise - On
8. Reinforcements -f Fixed
9. Thurn Cycle - Two Days

Two days is really needed otherwise the game seems to take way to long. Three days is too long, though.

As you can see, I would like to play a realistic game with the Historic and Dec 7th options on.

I would like to get a turn or two in each day. First month will go slower, obviously, but would like to get a turn (maybe two) in each night, if possible.

If interested, just drop me a PM or post here.

Thanks !!

KPAX,

I don't have WITP, just yet but have a question. Apparently, you prefer 2 day turns. I'm assuming that the physical time spent per turn is the same for 1 day or 2 day turns. If so, that would likely put a Dec 41 - Aug 45 game for how long real time. I realize that it depends on # of turns per real day and turn time if playing pbem. Just looking for an estimate.

Well, I guess if you went from 12-7-41 to the end of 1945 you would have something like 1,480 days. If you played one day turns and did a turn once a day it would take it would take a bit over four years to play out. I doubt that someone would not win prior to that. If you did two day turns, obviously your time is cut in 1/2.

I have not seen a big difference in the action, strategies, etc on two day vs one day turns. It just gest the game moving a bit faster.

And, yes, basically, I have seen that you spend the same amount of time entering your moves, etc. on two days as you would for one day turns.

I'm about halfway through a January 2-day PBEM, and one thing you will notice is that in a two-day game there isn't that much room for error - you have to be a bit more canny, and react quickly. A normal game will allow you to react faster to developments or alternatively stop a bad thing from happening. When you're playing for two days, you have to really commit to your decisions.

thats exactly the reason why I play 1-day turn games only. I want to react.

Good luck. I like 2 day turns except for historical start where you lose Zeros on the PH fighter sweep.
