Another Leader Problem

Post by SteveV »

Well, I have the Repulse still alive in 1942, but it is now commanded by an unidentified WO. His or her stats are zero/zero.

I have no options to replace or place a leader for the ship.

Thoughts?

No clue on what is causing the problem. But to change the CO of the ship it will have to be in a Task Force. Click on the ship in the TF listing and the CO should be in yellow, allowing you to change it.

(BTW, if the TF Leader happens to be the captain of the ship this will NOT change the TF Leader. But you can save yourself some PP by disbanding and reforming the TF, which will reset the TF Leader.)

Nope, I already tried this. More a surface combat group, assigned the Repulse to it, then got to the TF screen. There is nothing highlighted in yellow because there is no leader indentified at all. It just lists WO, then it is blank.

The invisible, unidentified phantom is running the BC!

Any other thoughts, or just a bug. This actually happened before to a Brit BB, but that was one I transferred out. [:D]

Any one else have this happen?

It is definitely a bug. Is the TF at sea or in a port? You may only be able to change the ship CO when the TF is in port.

It is in port in Columbo.

No joy there.

I'm out of ideas then. Gotta get the attention of someone official and probably send them your save game to look at.

Hmm, actually, one more detail to check. When you say the TF is in port at Columbo, do you mean "it is in the hex", or do you mean "the TF screen says 'docked' in the top left corner". Not meaning to be insulting here, just checking details.

I created a surface task force, allocated the BC Repulse to it, and then went to the TF screen. At all points in time a WO (Blank) is identified as the CO. It is not yellow, and there is no known way to changes leaders.

Okay, first make sure the TF screen says the TF is docked. Check the first line in the top left corner.

Then, click on the yellow ship name. That will take you to the ship detail screen. From there the ship's captain should be listed in yellow. If it isn't then you have a new bug and we really need to get a Beta in here. (He shouted out at the rest of the Forum. [:'(])
