Checked out the website. Looks like Laser Squad/UFO/ToS kind of game.
Shame the graphics are so cartoon like. Its about time someone makes an SF strategy game with some gritty realistic graphics. Massive Assault is another one with a cartoon look about it. It really puts me off as I think a SF strategy game like those Ive mentioned need some very good realistic looking graphics. Too bright, too colourful, too erm.......cartoony. If there is such a word.

RE: More info please
Hey, developer here. Here's some answers:
1) Supremacy currently does not have a play by e-mail capability. We considered it but the scale and pace of the battles really made it difficult to maintain an ideal game experience that way. Supremacy does have a robust multiplayer component over the Internet or LAN.
2) There is no tech tree per se - the focus of the game is firmly on combat, so the various upgrades that are available are limited by other in-game factors. This is one of my favorite parts of the game - we've played a ton of battles here in the office where tech was used in fascinating and unexpected ways.
3) second post) To keep the graphics legible, especially against the blackness of space, and to make units distinguishable from each other, we had to use the full spectrum of color. I don't consider Supremacy "cartoon-like" though as the game does feature gritty warfare, flamethrowers, suicide bombers, plagues, orbital lasers, et cetera. It's war, man!
Thanks for your interest. We hope you dig the game!

Is there any game similar to this it seems to have combinations of MOO 2 , starcraft?
RE: More info please
The only games I know of that incorperated both space and planet turn based combat were Star General and Fading Suns. Is you system anything like those?
How do you handle switching from ground combat to space combat?
Do you conqure a planet in one battle, or is the planet map large and you have to take it over city by city?

Have you ever seen Warhammer 40k stuff? It is perhaps one of the most respected SCI-FI settings on and especially off of the computer. It is chuck full of brightly colored Space Marines, Tanks, you name it. If anything a couple of the screenshots reminded me of that.

Thanks! We really dig the Warhammer universe - everything has a lot of personality and character, and that's something we wanted to try our hardest to give our units that same distinction.

Very true but also from what Ive seen Warhammer is aimed more at the teenage market. I want to see something a bit more gritty.
However I respect the developers. i havent a clue at programming let alone a game.
So all the best and I hope it goes well.

This sounds real interesting. In fact it’s the only game that has caught my attention for the next few months. I definitely plan on picking this up [:)]
Will it be available for digital download when it comes out?

[:D]I'm in, it looks perplexing and it will be a nice change of "atmosphere" from the Pacific or France[;)]. Turn based, Matrix product, Space and an Undead race...cool!

Cool. So you guys have been playing it for almost a year now? Does that mean it will come out before X-mas? Also could you give more of an example of how comanders work in the game. Thanks

Just noticed this old question, sorry for the delayed response. When you start the game, you have the option to choose one of four Commanding Officers (COs), or to let the computer choose a random CO for you.
During gameplay, units you control that are of the same race as your CO gain offensive and defensive bonuses. In addition, units you control that are of the racial enemy of your CO suffer a small penalty. There are nominal adjustments to the stats of units you control of the other 2 races.
On most (if not all) maps, you start with at least one planet of CO's race. For example, if you choose Kra'ag, you will most likely start with at least one Cha'ar homeworld. In the endgame, you will likely control planets from all 4 races, but this lets you start out with your preferred race's units.
If you have voiceovers activated in your options screen, your chosen CO will speak to you at key moments throughout the game as a holographic projection, giving you instructions, congratulating you, or harassing you for your failures. This is a great way for new players to quickly learn how to play the game and improve their strategy. For experienced players, it is sometimes a handy way to quickly learn about important events (a mothership becoming available for purchase, for example).
