New here, hoping for some answers

Post by Sef0r »

I remember when I first came across this game, Jan 2004...now finally it is getting closer. I know some have been waiting longer, so hopefully the beta testers and David can answer these.

1 - Can I customize it to the point that it resembles the NFL? Including having teams play to their real life counterparts, maybe specifying coaches tendencies?

2 - Since I haven't been able to see the game in action, what can I expect from the start of the play to the end? That is, if I came out in a Strong formation and have my HB follow the FB between the Tackles what type of animation is there? Can you sort of describe it from the point the HB takes the handoff to when he gets tackled? Is it similar animation to Madden, NFL2K series? (Sorry to be such a hassle, I know the animation may not be very close to the above 2 games but I feel they are different enough in how they execute their running plays that I thought maybe it was closer to one then the other).

3 - On that note, how many animation did you actually get into the game? I mean, how many different Interception, catching, juking, stiff arming or swatting animations are there.

You'll probably be able to get this game to play closer to an NFL style of game, than the NFL licensed games.

I don't really understand this question but I think you're asking if the play is played out with full animation like other video games. The answer is yes.

There are about 100 animations in the game for various movements.

Thank you David and zowee for replying and answering.

David, that second question was me sort of looking for a discription in detail about the animation of the game, how the HB follows the FB and anticipates filled gaps and trying to find an open hole. I honestly don't know why I worded it the way I did, sort of hard to explain myself sometimes :)

Basically I wanted to knowing what that particular play would look like, and what other game's animation best describes your game. Is it similar to madden 92, FB Pro 98, Madden 64, NFL Fever, NFL 2k or whatever. I'm just trying to get a feel for the game since there aren't any videos for it. If it is like your CFL 99 game then I wouldn't know, its not available for DL anymore.

Zowee - I have read teh facts, but my question about if I could get this to play out like an NFL season isn't in the FAQ, although it describes full customization, I didn't know if that meant I could have 17 game seasons with a BYE for each team, playoff scenario and Pro bowl type games similar to the NFL...that was the main part of my question. I'm not worried about playing the games, I'm a coach mode freak type of player, never really enjoyed joystick play since I could make players ALL Stars regardless of how I try not to.

Sorry, I just can't seem to control my exitement. The first true sim game I bought after years of trying to play coach mode in madden and NFL2K series was Total Pro Football. I loved the off season stuff but the gameplay just didn't do it for me. Their training camp was just allocating time to things like the weight room, I didn't notice anything different about my team via ratings or how they executed plays. I didn't mind not being able to make my own plays, but I found it frustrating to not be able to call formations before a play during a game, via offense or defense. Then the text based sim thing got old quick for me, I guess I've been spoilt by the former mentioned games, but you can't blame someone for wanting animated players...seeing how they execute your plays, seeing your younger/favourite players develope and all the great things visual graphics brings to games. Even after reading your FAQ and most posts from the past couple of years I'm not sure if any of what I said above is to be expected, and I'm trying not to overhype myself and kill the game like I did with this years version of Madden and ESPN NFL.

As Jackie's Uncle would say
"One more fing..."
When creating plays, for example an off tackle run to strong side(run from a Strong I formation) and taking them to practice against a base 4-3 defense, what will the outcome of 10 test runs be? Like Ravens OFF vs Ravens DEF, how many gains versus no gains/loss of yardage will I get from 10 attempts? Guestimate will do me just fine.

If you've read that far and haven't scratched your head, I will be thanking my english teacher..hehehe.
