Please, only serious players apply. "Serious" means at least one move per day on average, which probably means you won't have more than one other game going. I want to finish this game one day, so "serious" also refers to an opponent who will not go south a couple months into it. Think about that. At just one move per day it might take four years to finish one of these games.

The Dec. 7 surprise rule will be turned off--too much abuse. The land-combat system seems to be broken so no attacks into Soviet-held territory. Historical first turn, sub doctrines and Allied damage control on. If you want to vary the setup, okay.

I'd like to see how realistically this simulation can deal with its subject.

Just a comment that if you play historical first turn, then the opportunities for abuse of the December 7th surprise are no longer present.

I should have added that the historical first turn would be up to the Japanese player.

I'm willing to take you on. I am fully ready and able to play for a long, long time (at least until such time as you wish to discuss the terms of your surrender[:D])

I can provide 2+ turns every day except Saturday when I can only guarantee 1 turn. I am very experienced playing versus the AI as either side and averaged 10-15 turns most days. I have not played PBEM before and not sure how tyo go about setting it up and what the expected sequence of actions (sending of files, resolution of combat, etc...)

I can send my first turn late Monday morning. We are both West Coast so time differences aren't a problem.

I propose the following options (some you have already mentioned):

1. Sub doctrines: on
2. FOW: on
3. Advanced Weather: on
4. Allied Dmg Control: on
5. Historical 1st Turn: off
6. Vary Setup: off
7. Dec 7th Surprise: off
8. 1-day turn lengths (at least for first 90 days)

Any house rules are open for discussion.

In regards to 7 Dec Suprise option, only stipulation I request is that only CAP (not to exceed 50%) and search missions be allowed at Pearl Harbor and no transferring of aircraft on 1st turn. Airstrikes allowed anywhere else. This is to reflect that PH was surprised but the rest of the Pacific had ample warning before sunrise to ready airstrikes.

I do not play "gamey" tactics however I do believe in using any and all means that was historically and realistically possible. Gamey to me means exploiting the rules to achieve an effect that wasn't realistically possible IRL (map edges, ZOC manipulation, etc...). I tend to not stray far from the historical first turn setup preferring instead to just provide a tweak here or there.

I'm also generally do not favor turn "do-overs" unless it is absolutely necessary (ie. a gamekiller or computer/game/file malfunction).

Give me a shout if this is acceptable or in need of further clarification.

Thyat's sound good enough to me, except I'd prefer to keep it at 1-day turns for the entire contest. If that's agreeable to you then simply make your first move as the Japanese and be sure to send me always both the combat report (file 001) and the actual game turn--for the latter do NOT use slot 005 as that's already taken up by my game with Brigada.

Turn cycle is one of the options that is locked in PBEM. Whatever you start with is the turn cycle for the entire game. (You can reset this in AI play, and I believe head-to-head).

Would actually be nice to be able to change it, sometimes.
