CAG for german

Post by rocksk »

Have you guys ever consider using CAG for german in later stage of the game.

In my current game. My advanced CAGs are sinking WA battle group faster then their can repair. Currently in 1944 winter, only a some group of WA ships are still floating around.
range 4, eva 6, anti air 6, anti ground 6, anti ship 7 ,trops att, 5. [:D]

Thanks to CAG, my long hidding Subs can now come out to play.
Hidding since 1943, when WA send all their BB, DE, Carrier and CAG and park them outside my ports.

I've built CAGs as Germany, but I do find they have very effective counters:
- fighter cover (unless you can remove it)
- AA upgraded battleships

That right. That why i upgrade for fighters is a must, eva 9 and anti air 10, range 4.
I used wolf pack + mass CAG to strike against massive WA fleet after mass fighter clear the area of enemy fighters.

Any way range 4 gives CAG great flexibility as to where to strike. WA cannot possible have 6 fighters everywhere.

Wow, fighters with evasion 9 & anti-air 10? That must be against the AI right? I cannot imagine having that many points to spend versus a human & still keep land forces up to scratch.

I'd imagine if it was a PBEM game something drastic must have happened to Russia, such as an early seizure of Lenningrad and Cacusus or an excellent Japanese offensive into Siberia.

even a perfect russian campaign wouldn't free up that much to allow those kind of fighters in 1944.

I don't know, in a perfect Russian campaign most of the Russian army is surronded and cut off from supply. Supposing the Germans left this Russian pocket alone they could simply go around and pick off the badly defended areas.

Seriously i cannot compare to you guys. That game is against AI. I only concentrade on reseaching sub, tanks, AA, Fighters, CAG. It is good Russian campaign, i went india then up towards Cacusus. Capture Cacusus with tank forces from india. That mean russian lost most of its resources early in the war. This move take a lot of turn to prepare. Thus russian also tech up a lot.

My early fighter reseach contribute to freeing the port from enemy fighters. So that my sub can kill transport too.
