Hurray!

Post by wodin »

I played the Grave Grab scenario last night.

I really enjoyed it! I managed a Marginal Victory however I did rush the last day and a bit as time was ticking for bed and I wanted to finish it off!

The airborne held on just about I lost Overasselt bridge and the Germans poured over. However a superb Gaurds attack smashed them from behind. he Gaurds split up and one rested whilst the other carried on and smashed them again.

Superb

Good to hear. [:)]

So how are you now at giving orders? Are you micro-managing each unit?

Well I tried to give orders from as high as possible.

I detached a few units when needed. The guards were split in two and the airborne were also split in two with about three units split off on their own who were trying to defend Overasselt bridge.

I find it easier when I have enough forces so I dont have to split them up to cover the OBJ's.

My only problem really is time. As its an RTS game I feel I should carry on until the end. Where as a turn based game I find it easier to stop and save, then carry on tomorrow. Due to lack of time I then have to rush the end of the game which to me spoils it a little but its my impatient fault!

wodin,

Don't be afraid to save the game at any time you find convenient. It's perfectly safe to do. All your orders will be preserved. Remember you are in control. [:)]

You'll also find that as you get more comfortable with the game you'll be able to vary the game speed more as well as knowing when best to save. I have to admit, coming from RTS gaming into this I started off saving way too often[:D]

Yeah me too, I'm really looking forward to CotA!! HttR is an awesome piece of coding, I really like it, BUT Market-Garden just isn't my favorite campaign. CotA will be right up my alley though. Great stuff!
