Everyone hates France?

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Everyone hates France?

Post by suleo »

I've been playing France '92 and it seems to me that every major power hates me. Russia has grown enormously (got half of Prussia and all of Poland), the 'All Europe is alarmed at the rise of Russia" message has been on for at least 12 turns now, but do other powers DOW Russia? NO, they DOW me, France, who has not DOWed anyone.

In addition, there aren't any treaties that would stop the AI from DOWing the russians...not that said treaties have stopped the AI from DOWing me.

As an example: I land a 100k army in Britain and force a surrender via major battle. Next turn, Britain forms a pact that calls for Britain, Spain and Austria to DOW France, even though ALL those parties have enforced peace treaties with me (Britain through surrender, spain and austria via ratified treaties).

As a result, Spain and Austria DOW me (britain can't apparently due to the enforced peace via surrender, not via treaty). And all this time, Russia (who is also at war with me) keeps grabbing minors left and right.

By the way, maybe a nation that has just been defeated should NOT create a treaty that calls for an attack on the victor--similar to the enforced peace. I don't think such a situation--i.e. a country surrendering and THEN asking for other countries to DOW the victor--happened much.
