Franco's Alliance v2.1 using new US production mutiple

Post by Lebatron »

Hi Guys, I'm looking for someone to play Franco's Alliance v2.1
In this game we will be using my new US production mutiple.
x1 1940
x2 1942 OR Japan attacks Russia or the US
x3 1943
x4 1944

In this game Japan is not penalized for declaring before fall42.

Hi Lebatron,

I am excited to play your mod against/with human player.
I played against AI yesterday as Japan and it was the same outcome as "official" scenario.
I expect gameplay changes with an "intelligent" player. :-)

Maybe i know 2 others who wanna play your Mod, so we can make a 2vs2 (more fun to play imho).
Would be nice to make this a ladder game.

Anyways, i take Japan! :)

Greets,

Who says I'm intelligent[;)] Oh well, we can play anyway[:)]
I was working again on my mod tonight. I will probably be posting v2.1 tomorrow. The major production change and a few other tweeks to make the Jap mainland and nearby islands tougher justifies the new version number to set it apart from v2.0

If you can recruit 2 more that would be fun. I havn't played 4 player before.

Count me in... ready to start when you are.

Would prefer to play as WA.

Will play about 1 turn/day, my time zone is GMT+1.

I'm going to leave the victory conditions unchanged. Its to early to tinker with them since this will be the first game with real opponents that uses my revised US P.M. Since the US is lossing x1 through 1943 thats going to lead to the US either fielding less units or teching up less uber-units. It seems sensible to me that the US will do less teching, but thats up to a persons play style. The end result may be that the Axis will be able to hold out much better than before. Therefore the old method could be just fine.

We can make this a ladder game if you want. Since my experience is very limited playing the allies it would be better for me to stick with a ground war, so I will play Russia and China. Hopefully I can get partnered up with a good UN player.

Oh what do you know just as I was writing this someone wants the UN. You familiar with my mod? And also you might not like my changes since it directly effects the US?

Well, I just installed your mod... and checked that it works fine.

Btw, could you confirm that it should run with the initial version of the game, 1.005 ?
No other updates have to be installed.

I will live with the changes you have made for US production, it should balance the game in the right direction.
Let's keep the original victory conditions and make it a non-ladder game...

Well, I first installed your mod over ver 1.40, but that caused a kind of bug in the map (eastern Soviet Union).

Your readme file explained that the game should be re-installed before being patched. That is what I did, and it worked fine.
So what do we do with game update ?

WA: guggy (vonguggy @ yahoo.fr)

Fuel Consumption ON (i prefer OFF [;)])

^^I hope this fits to anybody, if not feel free to post what you want to change and we should be able to make a compromise.
Houserules of any sort are not necesary i think.
Also please post your e-mails so that everybody has everybodys e-mail.

EDIT: Rules and teams are like i posted above.
We are using Lebatron's "Franco's Alliance V2.1" with game patched to version 1.040.

When I said to reinstall the game in a different directory I took it for granted that everyone would then patch it to 1.040 before adding in my files.

Heres what I just put in the new readme to try and explain it better.

Step 1: What you need to do is reinstall another copy of the game in a different directory. Rename the new desktop shortcut to Franco's Alliance so you know which one is which.
Step 2: Install patch 1.040
Step 3: Then install v2.1 files into that one only following the guide below.

My email is jesse_lebreton @ yahoo.com

Remove the spacing by @ I seen others do this. I think its a way to keep spammers from leaching emails from forums. It may or may not work I don't know.

Also I will send everyone V2.1 by mail tonight if savefile is down the whole day.

Axis Powers are in diplomatic missions atm to bring up "The great masterplan of World Domination"! [;)]

Game should start soon, warm yourself up and get ready to rumble! [:D]

Maybe we can try to write an After Action action report? I havent done this before, but i think its nice if everyone post there during game if something happens he dont expects or if some plans turned out well(or not). Stuff like that. What you think? Or is it just a waste of time?

Lets send the game turns to everyone at the same time, just writing in the e-mail who is on duty. So everyone knows where the game is, this should prevent confusing.

I wish you all a nice game and have fun! [:)]

another rnd of diplomatic mission and the two axis powers are very close to formulate a master game plan.

AAR is a nice idea, but im not sure whether we can keep it going ...

i will send the turn to everyone and post the game as a ladder game.

have fun [:D]

An AAR would be a good idea. I'd advise not to get to lenghty on them, as I think most of us would get burned out by that. Best to keep it short and sweet and actually finish.

I don't mind making this a ladder game but guggy may object to that. He did say above he was not interested in that. Maybe he hasn't played a ladder game before. Guggy what would you like to do?

edit: Why don't one of you guys go ahead and start an AAR in the other area for them. Let us all know what your grand plan is[:)]
