How to play PBEM?

Hi

I was wondering how one plays a PBEM game. I am looking to play one soon and am wondering what I have to do. Also, I have the out-of-the-box game, so do I have to patch or mod it? If so, from where?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is a good question. I went ahead and made a sticky thread with some guidelines. I hope that answers the questions you may have.

Where can I get the latest patches for this game also? I imagine my out-of-the-box version is to old.

How many patches are there?

You have to go to the members area on this place to download patches (click on MEMBERS at the top of this page).

The patch you will want is version 1.040.
If you have the international version of the game (it has support for several languages) you already have version v1.040.
For a while there was a version called 1.070 / 1.071 but it is not currently available for download due to some problems.
Another patch is currently in the making and will hopefully be out soon (tm).

Finally, the US and the International versions are not currently in sync.
