Waste

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Waste

Post by 1LTRambo »

The economic pop up tab at the bottom of the map says that I have 2 provinces where waste is occuring. It does not tell me which ones are producing the waste. How are you suppose to know which provinces are the problem so that you can upgrade courts in those specific provinces without wasting precious resources in improving courts in provinces that you don't need to improve?[&:]

There is no specific two provinces that have waste issues; under the new waste rules waste is simply 3% per province over 20 (not counting protectorates, or provinces with Court >= 5). Provinces with Culture >=5 or Court >=7 always waste-free regardless:

***************************
* NEW WASTE RULES *
***************************

Waste is now a reduction in the amount of resources produced by provinces a nation controls. Waste is calculated based

on the total number of provinces a player controls; provinces with Court developments at a level greater than or equal to

5 do not contribute toward waste. Waste is 3% per province controlled in excess of twenty provinces; so, for example,

controlling 35 provinces results in a 30% loss of production due to waste: 45% = 3% x (35-20).

Province under protectorate do not contribute toward waste.

Provinces with Culture development levels greater than or equal to 5, and provinces with Courts greater than or equal to

7, are not affected at all by a nation's level of waste.

Sorry but that cant be true, I have 52 provinces and 35 provinces with court level at 5 or above, but I still have 7 provinces who contribute to Waste so something is wrong with your equation.

Are you sure you actually have 35 with Courts 5 or above? Note that when you hover the mouse over the black 'Improvements' button on the Province screen, its telling you what the level WILL be if you push the button and start the upgrade.

The actual improvement level is equal to the number of green dots on the button. This threw off some of the playtesters for a while way back when. So check and make sure that you actually have 35 with 5 or more green dots under Courts.

If so, then I dont know what to say. I'd post it in the 1.2.18 support forum and see what can be found.

Hope it helps!

Yea, some of them playtesters were kind of slow on the draw there

:)

also, if you have protectorates, they count in the total of your provinces, but not in the count of how many may be adding to waste, so make sure you are not also counting Protectorate courts

for numbers, make sure you do not have captured Provinces that do not belong to you (yet) (crosshatched provinces)

I dont have protectorates, it seem as if I also need 5 in culture to negate the waste. Still seems as if this should be looked in to by developers.

You only need 5 in courts to negate waste. I am quite certain of this because I made a mod for Turkey so that their starting provinces would not generate waste. So it would appear that the game is not crunching the numbers properly in your case.
