Now for upgrades. I wasn't sure which one to choose because they all seem to only be benefits in Detailed Combat, so I'm going to try out Line Marching.

I also promoted one of my great division commanders, Buckner in the AOT, to a 2 star general.

To end the turn I set my raiders to Steal Weapons.

Events 3/3

This is my worst turn yet.

My conscription in Charleston has caused them to go into unrest. The unit was still recruited, however. My production there is at a halt which is a huge blow to my money income. My governors are also not happy.

I managed to steal a few weapons and Early manages to join up with the AOT just in time for a huge disease that hits. This hit is devastating and kills about 6,000 men and reduces my disposition to low. This is probably the worst timing possible. I'm going to go ahead and set the the supplies up to Normal to get rid of this disposition and reinforce this army.

Next my Diplomacy is going down once again. I get 55 money for the runners. I'm sending off my runners to try and get some more weapons.

The west:

Early avoided an attack from McClellan and his 60,000 men. Just before Early left he caused some unrest in Cairo. It's not the biggest city, but it's something nonetheless.

This worked as an unintended diversion and would probably be the PERFECT time to attack the split force in Bowling Green who is only at 40,000 strength. However because of this damned disease the result would be unsure. If the disease didn't hit me I could attack it since I am only 1 province away. McClellan would of been late and I probably would also be able to take on his army as well since it would be weaker. It's not only about the numbers but quality aswell and I am confident in the weapon selection for my army, but it could turn into a disaster because of this disease hit.

Good thing he doesn't know about this. I would possibly be able to hold off his attack but it would be a lot more difficult.

Further west that Army in Missouri has moved to Osage. I fear he is going to attack Arkansas and I have just about nothing to counter him with.

In the east the Union army still waits in Cumberland. My ANV is ready in Fredericksburg with 103,000 men in high disposition and spirits.

Some of my units are inspired and one or two are even zealous. The rest are normal along with one or two bad apples at low. Along with this many of my units now have special abilities and better quality due to training. Another factor that surprises me is there is still NO general commanding the AOP, this means compared to me it has probably less training and less disposition. If any action stirs up here I'm confident that after upgrading my units with better weapons they can take on the Army of the Potomac.

My raider is ready to cause some damage and that's about it.

Now we have trouble in the South. That army of 30,000 men has just landed in Florida. The division I'm sending down has very few numbers and even lower quality so I'm going to use them to man forts and cities until I can brew a force up. I have learned not to depend on mustering or conscripting units so I shan't make that mistake again. Mustering and Conscripting is strictly OUT, it has only caused me and my people more harm than good. My hope is that I can hold him off with reinforced forts and try to starve him out.

I've sent my fleet down to the Cuban Channel in the small hope occupying it will stop supplies? If not I'm going to wait for my second ironclad is finished and I'll attempt a naval attack.

An overview. Note that fleet in the Mid Atlantic. This is an empty fleet with NO ships to try and divert and feint the enemy in anyway possible.

My economy is dwindling. I don't know what to do about it. I'm going to keep on trying to get my diplomacy up because I really need the resources and such.

I'm building a Laboratory in Savannah to help my Logistic skills.

I'm building 1 Mints and 2 Factories. A mint and Factory in Austin and a Factory in Chattanooga. Finally a Camp in Augusta to keep the governor happy and increase my reinforcements rate which I need greatly.

I've upgraded a few weapons in the ANV, and that's it. Another Ironclad is not an option at this time.

That's all I can do for this turn. I hope I get some better news next turn. [:(]

I went with Siege Techniques for my Engineer Research. This should be extremely useful.

I've set two of my raiders to cause Economic damage and the other one in the Potomac to try and destroy supplies.

One thing to notice is the Union now has cavalry after my Raiders so I have to be more careful and move them around more.

I have no more promotions so I have to wait for my Academy to be built.

Events 2/2

Ok, here we go.

I have no idea what this naval battle is. My fleet is still there at full strength and the enemy fleet has gone up to Georgian Atlantic. I'm going to take this opportunity to move my fleet to New Orleans to join up with almost ready IronClad. With two Ironclads I'll try to upgrade their weapons to the best of my ability and see what damage I can cause to the enemy fleet. An interesting feint I have put into effect however is that empty fleet I sent out was destroyed because it was empty. I'm guessing the Union will think it was the fleet in Florida (Which is fully intact) that was destroyed.

I got my April boost, hurray! All my population gaps have been filled. Does anyone know if this population growth continues further or is it just once every April?

I managed to do some damage to their economics. This means I just took out 17 of an unknown resource, which is always useful.

Supply destruction failed but oh well.

I got quite a few good building up this turn. A hospital in Milledgeville which will travel along the railroads around most of the south. I also got a Mine in Augusta which will increase my Iron production and two RR stations which will be very useful for the movement of my troops. I also got my Academy up so I should be able to get some more promotions. Finally a Barracks in Savannah so I can now build Corps Containers there.

The generals Longstreet and Wilcox have just arrived which is just great. I took a disease hit in Savannah which is no biggie.

Diplomatics are doing much worse. My support is now at 0 for England, France and European. Damn Unionists are squeezing me hard.

Damnit! My unrest spread to Savannah. This is pretty bad .. it better stop or my economy will cripple further.

I got 60 weapons which will help me out greatly. However one of my runners took some damage, so I should be more careful. This diplomacy is giving me heck so the runner options are becoming scarce. I have a shot at 50 weapons though and it's only %10 risk of danger so I'll take it.

Finally in the east the AOP has seized the Shenadoah. I'm going to go straight to the east report.

First I'm going to set up my generals. I'm sending Longstreet and Wilcox to positions in the ANV. I want Longstreet to become one of my Corps Commanders and Wilcox to replace one of my mediocre Division Commanders.

Here's the OOB.

In order to balance out the odds in numbers I'm sending over Mclaws Division to reinforce. The Union have no other military units and the garrisons are plentiful in the forts so I'm not worried about an attack on the capital. I attach him to Longstreet's corps and boost up my forces significantly.

I've given the Scout Attribute to 1 unit in each corps to use up the Horses I'm not using. This will give me better reports on enemy strength and such.

I've upgraded all my weapons in the ANV so now all my units AT LEAST have a musket. I know this isn't the best so I'm going to stay where I am this turn and try to upgrade as many as possible next turn. If he attacks I expect to defend against it with great detail. Next turn if he hasn't attacked and he still hasn't moved I will move on the offensive, I am very confident of my chances.

Good news in the west. The AOT is now back to normal disposition and is now doing well.

The Union Army in Missouri has moved further back to Westport out of harms way. My raider is still following him so I'll try to do as much damage to supplies as possible.

Now to this enemy army. They have all gathered at Paducah and I sense a VERY risky opportunity here.

I'm going to Attack his army. Yes I leave myself wide open and imminent for disaster, yes attacking the enemy army head on is absurd and the result will be disastrous. This is all true, so I'm not going to do it.

However I'm making the observation he has gathered at Paducah to attack my smaller force at Mephis. If he was really interested in my main force why did he move there? He would of moved back to Bowling Green.

What I'm going to do is let them attack. I'll move Branch and all of his division to fortify the forts there. However I'm going to figure he will leave behind some forces just in case he needs to stop me from rampaging into Kentucky, so I'm going to move my entire army along the Tennessee river and attack Paducah after his main force has moved.

I realize this is extremely risky and if I'm wrong it could very well end in a decisive defeat with a lot of casualties. However, I'm going to take the chance. If I do end up attacking the entire army I still have confidence they can at least face them off and not get totally slaughtered.

If it turns out a success and it works as I hope I will then move my army back to the Cumberland and move a division or two to harass Kentucky.

On the side I've also given my forts in Mephis breastworks in order to reduce siege damage. I don't have enough resources for weapon upgrades.

[Please realize that the report of enemy troops is EXTREMELY exaggerated. I have an estimate they only have about 120,000 men.]

Now for the south. I've left one of my brigades in Geechee to secure Georgia a bit better. I've sent the other two brigades to reinforce Florida's Capital.

I am guessing they are having supply problems since their ships have moved away and they have absolutely no supply route. We'll see what happens.

For my economy I'm going to cut down on Diplomatic spendings. I'm really low on cash and it's not getting anywhere right now. Hopefully I can soon boost it back up, such as when this darn unrest settles, to get more support.

In Augusta I'm building another Mine and that's it.

Here's an overview, I'm not sure why it shows my AOT so far down. It most definitely isn't anywhere near there.

End of the turn.

Hmm .. It looks like I need more academies in order to get another 3 stars. Well, I promote Wilcox to a 2 star general.

In Shenandoah (Location of the AOP) I'm attempting to destroy supplies for my upcoming defense/assault.

In Paducah I'm going to sabotage their rail road to cause further disruption.

Whew .. big turn ahead of us. To be honest I am shivvering for the next turn, this game now has such a huge effect upon me [&o]. Let's see what awaits!
