Project finished yesterday. Very successful. But I'm wasted...worn out and down with the flu again. After getting the patch out I'm taking some time off...need to rest.

Thanks for all your hard work-It is truly appreciated.[&o]

This sickness business is getting serious. Try this remedy; it works sometimes Get a 1 liter glass mug, put in a few ice cubes, sprinkle lightly with pepper and hot sauce, simutaniously, pour in tomato juice and one can of Budweiser-(don't pour too fast-over foam)a 50/50 mix should fill it to the top. Slice a limon into about 6 parts and lightly salt. When everthing is ready drink down your healing brew at your leisure-but not too slowly. When the 1st mug is finished, chew up one of the lemon slices and quickly fix another drink. Repeat about 6 times, or until you begin to have a reaction to the tomato juice.

Do not have a Chinese dinner-eat a big steak and patatoes. In the morning you will be fine-except for a slight bloated feeling-it will "pass".[:)]

If you can't get Budweiser down under, i'll be happy to send you a case. All propaganda aside, an ice cold bud is great on a hot day.

@Arjuna
Try some hot Met(Mead).

Also try a constant bombardment with a good vitamin C spender like orange juice(1 liter spread over the day should help).

Get well soon.

Yes it will be an official patch. As to when, well that depends on further testing. I'd say another couple of weeks, but stay tuned.

We have put out a new beta build for the patch. This one corrects three problems. The first was that some forces were going on hold for large periods of time. The second was a minor oversight that failed to allow for depot tasks with no subjects ( such as when they get stopped but not removed from a plan ). And the third was to do with the ammo counts in the estabs.

Of course, it will be official. PG has never done anything half-*ss or taken expedient short cuts ... like "use this beta patch at your own risk which we don't actually support". Dave has always focused on quality with a capital "Q". :)

Does this fix the bug I described long time ago? Does this fix what I called the "lazy state"-behaviour of units, where units would only move if the user would change formation + aggro settings (to max) - where dragging + dropping a task would not let them move anymore?.

If so -> thanX a lot. .... finally

GoodGuy,

I'm not sure if it does or not. That bug that you reported previously is one of those elusive user interface bugs that is nigh impossible to repeat consistently enough to trap and fix. I know we had a devil of a time getting it to repeat here. It may be tied to some strange combination of other software installed on your machine. But I can't be sure of that. Suffice to say that I have not seen it on our machines here over the last six months. It may still manifest on your machine. No doubt you will advise us once the patch is out.[:)]

In the Beta forum, we see much more frequent posting from Dave than in the general public. Aside from his selfish habit of feeding his family (said in jest), as far as I can tell, his other primary focus is COTA patch #3 and BFTB work (priorities in that order). In fact, I think just recently Dave knocked out a few more of the nastys. So, rest assured, the patch moves forward. BFTB moves forward.

PS: I admit to neglecting to providing you loyal fans inside progress reports of code improvements as I had done in great detail with the COTA Patch #1 (which most of you remember as the AI aggression patch). I offer my humble apologies. Truth is I am not playing too much these days as my health and energy levels just ain't what they were in the past. Sorry.
