I think that Guadalcanal was a nice UV scen, but in WitP it is not really playable without houserules.

the Nippon player can to nothing against the 6k 4-eng bomber armada -even if he damages half of them in every raid they will come back on the next day....

This scenario is unplayable due to the reason you mentioned. Only alternative to Japanese players is a very defensive approach.
1-Give up Guadalcanal
2-Build Kavieng for the case of Rabaul being closed. Improve the AF at Buka too
3-Don´t waste your Zeroes and Betties againt Guadalcanal
4-If the enemy move to take Lunga/Shortlands....attack tem with hordes of Betties escorted by Zeroes. Use your CV´s but avoid confrontations with enemy CV´s. It´s time to use your surface fleet too.
5-Once the enemy has enough bombers to shut down all your AF´s....pray....

In any case, choose Nik mod[:D]
