That was supposed to be gumming my own food but I wouldn't put it past the punks to be gumming my food.  The dang dogs sure try to to steal my food.  One of the little buggers ate a shoe off my stepsons foot while he was sleeping.  Took me weeks to teach her to do that!

I taught my kids not to wear shoes to bed.

You let them have shoes?!?![X(][X(][X(]

Come back when I find my dentures!!!![:D]
I just had another one of those "elder moments." I wear glasses for distance vision (like when driving), but don't need them for close work. Well, as you might expect, what with the old mental equipment starting to show signs of wear and tear, I put my glasses down so that I could see the screen while regaling you all with my highly sofistemicated humor. Next thing you know, I remember that I've got clothes in the washer that need to be hung out to dry. Off I go. Then, it comes into my head that I ought to walk down to the village store for a few veggies to go with dinner tonight.

Can't find my dadgum, goldarned glasses. Problem is, I need to have 'em on while I'm lookin' fer 'em, 'cause if they're more than five or six feet away, I can't see 'em.

So, I sit down to think and remember where I put 'em.

Crack! Sure answered that question. Good thing I got a spare pair.

grumble, mumble, gripe, groan, complain...
Put my faith in the people
And the people let me down.
So, I turned the other way,
And I carry on anyhow.

So what about the Brits?  Surely they had their fair share of geezers in the Pacific.

Possibly Percivale or Wavell?

AB Cunningham (late war) qualifies. I always thought of him as England's best WW2 seadog! [:)]

ABC was definitely a geezer. From a very young age too! He had very good subordinates that helped him greatly when building his reputation, but being the sort of man he was definitely helped them be aggressive, knowing that they would not be criticised for doing so. When action was coming he was likened to a caged tiger.

We watched some Monty Python last night on DVD. The funniest joke in the world was one of the sketches.
