I've seen that before!

I lost an entire turn evacuating factories because I feared exactly what has just happened to Stephane, and used all my rail points and pulled my troops back from the Northern Dnepr.

LIke I said earlier on, as the Soviet you have to know when to stay, and when to go.

Any salient like those in '41, and you have to be bugging out on the flanks, or that will happen

You may not feel you are improving, but you are analyzing what corrections you need to make, and I bet you will improve in future games. That said, you are in good position this game, good casualty figures, and lots of terrain taken. At the very least, you will be in good position for the Winter, and may be able to cripple your opponent in '42. Nice game!

Turn 12 - start

Big pocket remained intact. More-over Soviet forces remain in close proximity of my troops. These is promising situation.

In that turn I tried to find balance between fast reduction of created pocket and maintaining momentum of advance.


AGN grinds forward. Goal is almost there. AGC crawls. Practically without tanks, with relatively weak infantry Army Group Centre in not able to do more than maintain pressure.

Thanks to recent developments strength of AGS mobile forces is around 2,5 panzer groups. Part of it participated in elimination of surrounded units, rest managed to create decent encirclement in Kharkov area.


My problem at the moment is fact, that I committed many panzers to task of moping up and holding pockets. Recreating proper strike-force will consume 2-3 turns.


Nevertheless situation is good.

Turn 13 - start

Stephane persist in his strategy of passive resistance. It is good news, but I am afraid I won't be able to exploit it this turn - my forces are spread all around the map so I am not able to mount meaningful attack.

Big success in the north - Leningrad is isolated, but nut will be hard to crack and I guess it will take me more than 2 turns to get area cleared.
